what did you all feel about it.

it was ehh okay. i ate 10 bucks worth of popcorn. so that was fairly cool.

That movie **cked me up. One of the best dystopic future movies I have ever seen. To hell with the fact it started as juvenile science fiction. So did Harry Potter.

Got bored last night, watched X:Men First Class again, didn't realize the same actress that played a young Mystique also played Katniss in HG.

Almost through the second book (audiobook). 2 hours left.

Oldest daughter wants me to take her back to see Hunger Games for the third time this weekend. Hard to tell her no. Damn fine movie, and I recommend it to any of you that like sci-fi.

My grandmother had the predecessor to LaserDisc she had a VideoDisc player.

Man that thing was awesome. If you paused the movie too long it would cause it to skip in the same spot. What I mean by this is if you remember the boob jiggling scene in Airplane, well we paused it there and after a while that part of the movie would jiggle back and forth for like 10 seconds. Now that's a lot of boob jiggling.

Watched 'Moneyball' last night & loved it, you dont have to be a huge baseball fan to really appreciate it.

Beane changed the game, plain & simple, but its hard to understand turning down the Red Sox contract, holy cow. I also cant help but wonder why it doesnt seem to be working so good these days, though i read that its partly because pretty much every team is now using the sabermetrics system.

Pitt is as good as ever, Hoffman was absolutely nails & Hill was just fine, though i dont see him deserving an academy nod over Hoffman.

Aries Walker 04-22-2012 05:48 AM

A friend of mine had never seen Red Dawn, so we watched that last night. It was a really underrated movie, especially considering what most high-school-set movies - and the world in general - were like at the time.

Not bad. I'm wondering why there was no mention of the pitching.

It seems like there's problems, because I think it was supposed to be out by now. I read that at first they were saying the other army was China, but then changed it to North Korea.

Aries Walker 04-23-2012 06:12 AM

It was sidelined for a while while MGM went bankrupt, but I think it's coming out now in the fall. Maybe September? I'm not sure.

Ah, there. Wikipedia says November 2.

Yes APT 143 is totally awful, please don't waste your money on this filth.

KCUnited 05-07-2012 07:07 AM

Fresh

Food system documentary. Nothing I didn't know already, but I enjoy listening to farmers talk about food. A couple of the farmers featured were in Missouri which reaffirmed that I should be eating the best food available all the time.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

I don't pay much attention to movie awards, but hopefully this was acknowledged for its costume and makeup. A somewhat familiar story line, but it was pieced together in a way that made it seem fresh.

KcMizzou 05-08-2012 05:46 PM

on a side note...that "Battleship" movie looks like a steaming turd.

they should make a movie based on the Battle of the Corral Sea, or Battle of Midway.

I'm sick of the PG13 CGI movies. It's just noise and crap. I feel like there should be a name to categorize movies like Battleship or Transformers. Like CG13 or something.

They must have made the movie with the sole intent of offending people. There was a scene where one of the antagonists walked onto a school bus with a flame thrower and burned all the kids. It's just as gory as a movie can be. Offensive as can be. Just a weird ass movie overall.

Watched Underworld: Awakening last night. Wow, what a steaming pile of dog shit. I don't even know where to begin. The special effects (particularly the Lycans ) were ****ing terrible, a million plot points were brought up and never explained, it was wayyy too short and that ****ed with the pace. I could go on for a while.

Spoiler!

Ceej 05-12-2012 01:26 PM

I think the Underworld movies should have DIAF after the first two.

I couldn't even finish the most recent one.

I really liked it. It's a good example of finding humor in a really tragic/terrifying situation. I thought the friendship was really believable. You wouldn't want your best friend mooning over you as if you were already dead. You'd want compassion and support... but you'd also wanna bust each others balls as usual.

Shogun 05-12-2012 07:43 PM

also watched chronicle, really ****ing good

I'm not sure what makes a good movie in your book but this movie had great acting - Ryan Gosling was great and very believable - hardly any CGI and it was super rich in style. Car chase scenes were well done, IMO. I just really enjoyed it. Loved the soundtrack too.

saw "The Dictator" last night. It was worth the money for sure. 10x better than "Bruno".

Was scared that the scenes they showed on T.V. were the only ones that would be funny, but that wasn't the case at all.

The film got better as the film went on.

I would like to recommend The Grey but can't.

Didn't like the ending at all. In one scene, one of the guys did a long drawn out speech that he has given up hope and not going on any more. I kept waiting for Liam Neesan's character to say some words of wisdom, but he just stood there speechless.

And then a big scene where they could finally get rid of the wolves for good.

And then they were right there to meet them! I had to laugh.

SnakeXJones 05-22-2012 05:58 PM

Lord Of Illusions..

I just dunno what Baker was thinking what a POS(the movie of course)
