1) this is exactly my first thought;

2) Another possibility would be for Mahomes to pull a gun and wind up shooting someone else and then go to prison for shooting someone else. That would be just in line with Chiefs luck;

3) since neither of those did happen, maybe this means Chiefs' luck is changing
