$5 just to enter Westport. What a stupid idea.

I don't understand how that cuts down on violence. It's just a moneygrab.

I've wondered the same.

They used to charge $1 or $2 to get in there about 10 years ago. They would also let you drink outside as long as you were within the gates.

Yeah I remember that. 5 bucks and you have to pay with a card is absurd. They did that at PNL to keep black kids away and I'd imagine that's why they are doing it in Westport.

I think it's great. It keeps the underage kids away and the people who are just looking to cause trouble out. $5 isn't bad...maybe a little steeper than it needs to be. Then again, I love being able to have open containers.

There's so many other options in the city. I find myself going to Westport less and less as it is. This will guarantee I don't go.
