For all of his good picks, he’s also got a negative to go with those moves.

His cap mismanagement and poor drafting of depth players has left this roster rather thin. Veach has helped in some areas with it, but we’re still trying to recover the depth while fixing the shithole cap situation.

Here we ago again. I can't believe how some of you can't see that Dorsey was outstanding at drafting. Just clueless really.

Unless you needed a corner or linebacker.

The perfect outlook on Scandrick from someone else.

Orlando Scandrick is veteran depth. The #Chiefs are looking for someone who can step in for injury and hold their own. Scandrick shouldn't "excite" anyone...but he knows what he's doing. We've seen how bad it can get. #ChiefsKingdom - @citadelchief

Cap management was overblown. All of those expensive contracts were coming off the books this season. And this team was a 2-****ing-win team. Yeah, he had to overpay a little initially to bring talent on board. BFD. No different than any other shit team.

Meanwhile...Veach just handed 16mil to a receiver with questionable production.

What position are we deeper at under Veach than we were under Dorsey?

Dorsey was PRAISED for his ability to find scrap heap players. Depth wasn't an issue for most of Dorsey's tenure.

I am still waiting for someone to show me one team which drafted better than the Chiefs during Dorsey's tenure. I think that's my 5th time asking on these boards but you guys won't give me one.

So a 4th string CB.

That's suppose to be Tremon Smith's job.

And you question why this potential move isn't being praised?

They also can't illustrate how Veach is a better cap manager than Dorsey. Alex, DJ and Tamba were going to be gone regardless of who the GM was.

In a draft loaded with DB's, Veach failed to create any depth at the position. But silence....

The Watkins contract has to be looked at from a certain lense, IMO. You’re not giving him that deal if it’s not for the unique contractual setup of the Chiefs offensive personnel right now. You had Mahomes, Hunt, Hill, and Kelce all making about a combined $14-15M. I can see why you add a premiere talent in Watkins, even if overpaying, because with him you have a chance to create an all-time lethal offensive attack. Now, the OL will need to regain their 2015-2017 form at minimum to see that, but it remains a possibility IMO.

Dorsey also really only found good scrap heap players the year that he had the #1 waiver priority. Whereas Veach went out and acquired the best MIKE linebacker we’ve seen in (?) years in his first month on the job. No waiver priority necessary. Why couldn’t Dorsey get more creative like that?

Pretty much. If we bring in Scandrick....then that pretty much locks the top 4 CBs on this team. Smith should earn the 5th spot. That means we're cutting a younger player that may have more potential.

I would assume Scandrick would purely be a slot CB backup. Not playing outside. But who knows.

LOL WUT?

The Ragland hype needs to settle down. He was aight. Crowning him "best" at any time is non sense.

He was a major part of that ILB unit that got wrecked all season long.

Why didn't they sign him in March?

I'd imagine because they didn't think they needed him. And then they failed to add a significant player in the draft or in F/A.

And then realized (when it's too late) that they are thin at the position.

Okay, who was better? Mauga? Ramik? Belcher? The list goes on and on.

Yeah I feel good about Ragland moving forward and I think it was a good trade by Veach but please dont act like the guy is already a probowler lol. He was decent nothing more last year.

I am a big fan of Veach, who still has a lot to prove, but the Dorsey criticism is over the board and often clueless.

Look for the Browns to become a good team shortly. But then Dorsey haters will say that he inherited a great team full of talents lol

Not hard to improve from 0-16.
