I don't think so, not unless the previous owner had him and released him at some point before I took over.

EDIT: I also know that before FA started, I had 52 people on roster. I signed two and it jumped to 55 and Smith was on there while still on the clock. Now he is signed for real with another player and it went up to 56, which is correct.

Are you sure your browser screen was current when you said there was a hour on the clock and DJ Smith was signed?

I had just re-loaded it to see the other two players were cleared, it might have been something where it was loading it from cache though, not sure.

I really really really wish I was here at the beginning, I feel like whoever had my team didn't really pick very well.

Vince Lombardi and Chuck Noll had the same issue. When you make the turnaround, you never have to buy a meal again in your home city.

News Update:

We will be turning on the depth charts, updating player availability by week, and turning on the game planning elements early next week, perhaps as early as Sunday. You can use this to get your team up and running.

Kickoff for Week 1 is currently planned for July 1st. We will play the season relatively quickly because we want to get the 2013 offseason completed (2013 draft) prior to the NFL kickoff.

Also all settings in the game planning will go to default values, so if you have any schemes you're fond of you may want to write them down.

I like how the draft is going to be before the season. It was to easy to just pick guys based on stats.
