ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Another filler episode. |
Nothing beats Savage Rick in the church, he made a promise

Havent watched in two weeks and dont care, its run its course... we're officially divorced

So, they made a point to show that Daryl has a carved "X" on his lower back like Michone does.
This week's episode was directed by Michael Cudlitz (played Abraham on the show) and he said in interviews that it will be revealed where the Xs came from and the story around that is "some really f-ed up stuff" Sounds like they are pulling a LOST type ploy where they reveal things and later on -- maybe even seasons later -- they explain it. Like why does it seem Maggie and Michoone are at odds -- not wanting to see each other. Slowly it will be revealed what happened over the 6year time jump. |
Thought the episode directed by "abraham" was solid. Yes, a filler, but still solid, and you could tell it had some artistic direction that was a bit different than other episodes.
Especially liked how they had "jesus and mary chain" playing while leading up to Jesus sitting on the couch in Hilltop. I figure that pretty much flew past the majority of viewers. |

Tacking him on as the defacto leader of Hilltop felt well...tacked on. There was nothing that made me feel "Oh no, Jesus is dead!! How will everyone survive without his leadership?!?!". Just sorted of meh on his death. I did like the hat tips to other movies this week; Negan and his ball & glove hat tip to "The Great Escape" and the attempt at eerie fog scenes like those in the old Universal horror movies. |

But nah. Good catch on the Great Escape imagery, didn't pick that one up. |
