It's good stuff.
I still don't understand why they have to play second fiddle to the Black Keys though. |
sounds like an upbeat Broadcast...nice

the track featured in the video is BY FAR the most accessible song on the album. Some of the material falls squarely in the down-tempo, ambient and trance genres.

wild performance on Letterman....

Not my thing but I saw they re-released Zaireeka for Record Store Day.

I've always liked the Lips. Saw them in concert once, that was cool.

Way more listenable and enjoyable, to me, than Embryonic.
I'd seen them in concert recently and was worried that they'd veered off the deep end into unlistenable dreck, but this is pretty pleasant. |
you know one bad thing about The Lips? When you are talking music with people that are a little younger, it seems like most of the time if I bring up the Flaming Lips in whatever conversation, it always get's awkward really quick. I'm pretty sure that they think Flaming Lips sounds like a gay band and it seems a lot of people never heard of them.

Wut?
If anything I would expect older people to feel that way. How do they react to Queen or Motörhead? |
