The best thing I ever got from a Christmas party was a sweatshirt about 7 years ago. Have done several potluck lunches that's it thru the years.

I won an xbox/kinect bundle last year, which was 400 bucks, took it back to best buy and traded it for a basic laptop and gave it as a gift~

When I started with my company in 1984 our department held Christmas parties at a restaurant/bar and the spouses were not invited.
