Flip side of the argument would be that you feature Daniel as much as possible with the 2s in the hopes that he looks awesome and someone trades for him. If they're comfortable with Bray, which I have no way of knowing one way or the other.

I don't think it equals winning. He was never a winner in the SEC despite having three wide receivers and a bunch of o-linemen who are now playing in the pros. Did he win two or three SEC games in three years as the starter? He's been stepping into throws like for years. He's still a loser until he proves otherwise and is still a major longshot imo.

Not at all. His stock won't rise being blocked by a bunch of second stringers and throwing to guys like Mark Harrison. If anything he shouldn't be dangled out there at all in the pre season.. Let his previous work and the San Diego game be his resume.

I also don't see the point in flipping him for a 6th rounder at best which is what he'd be valued at.. Unless I'm horribly off base here.

I all seriousness Bray sucked in the clutch and couldn't win a big game to save his life. He wilted under pressure every time. That's one of the biggest differences between he and Daniel. Reid and Dorsey know Daniel is capable of winning a game or two. You can't say that about Bray. I bet Tebow winds up with more career NFL starts when it's all said and done.

It's strange to me how people can take the most basic things like winning for granted when they evaluate these guys.

Alex had to muscle into that throw, whereas Bray made a 27ish yard chuck look almost effortless.

I think you have to keep Bray around.

That was a great pass by Alex as well. Funny thing, during that game I told my wife "god I wish Alex would step up in the pocket" and immediately after I said that, this play happened. I turned and got a really nice "I told you so!".

QB's that step up in the pocket are winners.

We need teh sexy. Badly. Just being able to say "I didn't throw an interception" is not enough. I put that statement right up there with "grading-out perfectly".

The 2nd half of the season Alex Smith was pretty consistent with his production.

He'd have to win on some level before I'd even begin to compare him to Alex. Bray is a loser until he proves otherwise imo.

I will say that I look forward to the competition in the next two games. I still think Bray is going to have to really outplay Daniel in the next two games to get a spot on the roster. It will be fun to watch him go against the twos for the first time in a preseason game. The deck is definitely stacked against him. He's just not in the same mold as the other three quarterbacks at all. They are proven leaders who've won big games and can scramble. If he beats out Daniel he will earn it. If he doesn't people will bitch. I'm just not sure some really understand what it's going to take.

More like, Murray better hope Bray beats Daniel or he gets injured to keep his roster spot. Not sure why people think just because they drafted Murray he's a lock to make the team. Didn't Reid say that each QB was going to get a quarter and Murray got like 4 minutes?

Murray was way more over-hyped by the local media just because he actually got picked in the rounds.

Unimpressive, he was.

Every year there is a guy like Bray with the prototype arm and size. This year it was Logan Thomas. Last year it was Bray. The Year before last it was BJ Coleman. Thirty yards in the air looks real pretty but it doesn't mean shit.
