Matt Ryan for Brandon Marshall

I've got this offer on the table. I get Ryan, send Marshall to a guy with no wr depth after aj green. My other wrs are Reggie Wayne, Vincent Jackson, Steve Johnson and Jeremy Kerley (on bye this week). I'm thinking I have both the depth and strength of schedule to absorb Marshall, even though he's having a beast of a year, cutler and the bears could implode at any moment. Also, my backs are Spiller, Charles, Chris Johnson, Leshoure and Jonathan Stewart, so going 3wr isn't required. I just know I won't be able to win in the playoffs with Andy dalton or Carson Palmer as my qb.

So good trade or bad?

Take it and run like the wind.

PPR league, keep Marshall. Otherwise I'd think about it.

Quick rant, and this is what pisses me off about some fantasy guys. I'm getting raked over the coals by a few people in my league because I traded the 20th-best scoring player for the 5th. On the surface, it makes sense, it looks like I'm screwing the other guy over. Only here's the kicker.

Matt Ryan is his 3rd qb. He has yet to start him all season because his other two QBs are Peyton Manning and RG3. Conversely, his WRs were AJ Green and Nate Washington. I sent him a message saying I wanted Ryan, and for him to name his price and I'll try and make something happen. He asks for Marshall, I say okay, we do a deal. He gets a much needed positional boost, and I get a starting QB.

Now I'm getting shit because 'I' didn't offer him more. Which is stupid for a couple reasons, but maybe most importantly is this: the only other trade offer for Matt Ryan this dude received was Eric Decker for Ryan straight across. And if that was the competition, a guy who isn't even a #1 on his own team, then not only did I give him enough, I probably paid above market value.

So there it is. Some people need to realize this is a friggen game, and yes, some trades are going to be a little one-sided, but once again, FRIGGEN GAME. Remember when winning a trade was a good thing?

Especially with Andy Dalton putting up 28 points. Still won though, 10-1. Thank Christ for Gronk, Marcel Reese and the Niners D.

WTF? They should give him shit for making a bad trade, not you for taking advantage. This is the first time Ive ever heard of being roasted for getting a good deal.

On a somewhat related note, toward the end of the year some people in my league were freaking the F out about some trades between guys out of the race with guys fighting for the top seeds. But in hindsight, all of the trades ended up backfiring for the teams at the top. They bitched when the 3 seed got Michael Turner for Randall Cobb, but Cobb has not only stayed on the field but got 4 straight games with a TD. They bitched when the 4 seed got Eli Manning for relatively little, and he has shit the bed ever since. You just never know...
