Dammit. I was just chillin by a lake last weekend and damn near every song we were listening to was sung by him. He will be missed. Birth Ritual was my favorite screaming song of his. RIP

I saw them in 96 co headlining Lloapalooza with Metallica at Rockinham, N.C., and it was an awesome show.

They were one of those bands that were even better live than in a studio. Not many bands are like that, IMO. Seeing his recent pics he looks much like Layne Staley did before he died.

I was just talking yesterday about wanting to see him live.

Damn. He was one of the best to come out of the early 90's/Grunge era...

Roger Ailes of Fox News and Chris Cornell of Soundgarden both R.I.P. yesterday

Who will be the third?

redfan 05-18-2017 08:01 AM

Dammit!! The universe's grudge against grunge continues:

Cobain, Staley, Weiland, and now Cornell.
RIP to an incredible talent

That is crazy.

I saw him on the Songbook tour he did a few years ago. (The resulting live album is worth a listen) It was just him by himself on the stage with a bunch of acoustic guitars (and a record player he used for the piano on When I'm Down). One of the better shows I have seen.

Enjoyed his solo stuff a lot, very sorry to hear of his passing.

I saw them that tour with Skid Row as well. It was my birthday. After the show we were leaving and walking by the tour buses. The Sound Garden guys were all hanging outside the bus having some beers. My friend mentioned it was my B-day so they gave me a beer and we partied with them.

The Skid guys were dicks except for Bas. He was awesome to the fans. At one point it was Chris, me and Bas standing there having a beer. I was just soaking up the conversation. They were both very funny and had some great stories.

Very sad to hear Chris has passed. He had so much music left in him. Was planning to see them this tour. RIP my friend. :deevee:

I used to watch Skid Row practice in Toms River where I grew up before they become a real thing. Rachel Bolan and my next door neighbor were good friends and would take me along occasionally.

So did he kill himself?
