Better movie - this or the new Evil Dead?

This movie. The Evil Dead was a throwback to the older horror movies (being a remake) but it was all gore, no substance actually. It wasn't scary it was just gruesome to me. The Conjuring had it all, IMO.

Evil Dead couldn't hold The Conjurings jock strap.
I saw both this weekend.
Evil Dead was a downright lame ass disappointment.

The Conjuring is a rarity.....a scary movie that is actually scary! Best horror flick I've seen in a long...long...long time! matter of fact....hmm....I can't think of another this good.

It's not The Exorcist-good, but it's up there. I'll buy it when it's out, for sure.

this is the one I thought about. the one to compare to. I think The Conjuring puts up a helluva fight. for me personally, I think it's better.

That lady that is in it, Lily Taylor, she was in The Haunting. I'm guessing she is not as hilariously bad in Conjuring as she was Haunting.

I don't think it rises to that level, certainly not having only been out for a few days with no repeated viewings. But it's damn good, and as I said earlier in this thread has a distinct Exorcist feel to it.

Plot-wise, I can see Poltergeist. Feel? Not for me.

From the trailer, it looks a LOT like Insidious. Did any of you who saw Insidious still find The Conjuring super scary and good? I ask because I'm strongly considering going to see it this weekend

I enjoyed Insidious, but this is a lot better.

It was #1 at the box office as it beat out some big time big budget films btw!
