Suggestion: Do Away With Direckshun.
I've started coming around to this line of thinking in the past year or so.
There are guys that shouldn't get the privilege to post on CP because of their stupid threads and moronic ideas.
I don't see why this idea is controversial. It'd clean up CP from a lot if the mindless drivel that permeates this board on a day to day basis.
I suppose the only argument that I can think of against it are:
1. If we do this, the "less moronic posters" (Hamas, Iowanian, Baby Lee, etc..) will become the drivers of intellectual discussion on the board and everyone will miss out on the fascinating topics of eliminating the draft or how Justin Houston doesn't have elite strength.
and
2. CP is designed to give every poster a voice for their ideas (no matter how galactically stupid).
I think both of these arguments are defunct.
When it comes to CP posting, the "less moronic posters" would bring less threads, but the thread topics would be of a higher quality. Quality should always trump quantity. Which is why it was such a travesty that Clay was the number one poster of 2014 based solely on his sheer number of posts.
And that deflates the 2nd argument, too. CP is the best football discussion board on the Internet and should hold its posters to a higher standard that other sites. Threads dedicated to the merits of drafting a ****ing center at 18 should not be allowed and posters who suggest such things as well as the idea of getting rid of the NFL draft should be cast out.
What say you?
