The fifth was the best, so it leaves the door open for this one to be great as well. But usually after the best movie in a franchise you get a let down. I think they're using Michelle Rodriguez' death as the prime way to sell this movie, along with the normal cars and hot women, but they'll probably just say it's her twin sister or some kind of basic crap like that.

Bump 02-04-2013 10:29 PM

the plane crash scene makes me think the movie is gonna be reeruned as shit.

Ever seen 5? lol imo was the best one and it was way out there with the robbing of the vault! lol

They would be reeruned not to make 6 considering 5 did over 500 million world wide.

Fast Five was a really fun summer blockbuster popcorn movie.

Justin's taking the franchise in more of an Ocean's 11 vein and it's paying off, big time.

Eh, the car shit is just so over the top I can't watch it. The safe scene? Really? Anybody that's ever pulled a lawnmower trailer knows that shit ain't working. It's just too far gone for the suspension of belief.

To me, these are mindless fun films, bordering on fantasy.

If I were to take an analytical approach to every film, I'd hate everything and enjoy next to nothing.

Some escapism is nice on occasion.

:D

I hear you. And I'm one if the worst at liking escape movies. Hell I liked all the Die Hards. But the car shit in 5 was just bad. I was pretty OK with most of it until they pulled the safe with the cars. The shit they tried to sell just isn't happening with anybody that's ever pulled a ****ing law mower trailer.

And this new one with the plane? Unhuh. Like a big ass cargo plane can't make enough lift to pull a couple cars off the ground.

That's just too much.

I will admit though. I want to see the tank wreck shit.

nope it's greenlit, and in pre-production

That's cool. Pitch Black is one of my fave movies. I thought Chronicles of Riddick was good back when I was 14 but watched it recently and have to say I didn't think it was nearly as good as I remembered...

Regardless, Riddick is probably one of the coolest characters ever so I'll watch it.

apparently, early reports are saying that this movie will ignore part 2 completely concerning the Necromonger and Furyan narratives.

Yep. its supposed to be out in Sept, but thats not a real "confidence" release date. More like a dump.

I hope its good. I really enjoy the Riddick series.

Statham would have been a nice add bit a little over the top IMO. They weren't willing to spend shit on the 3rd fast and furious so we ended up with Tokyo drift. Now they add the rock and advertise during the Super Bowl and try to add statham who would have been pricey

Bleh. Whole movie was just forced and too over the top (yes, even more than any of the others). Worth a watch but not nearly as good as Fast Five if you ask me..

Just saw it last night. If you can suspend your belief system then I thought the movie was pretty good.

Example: "Damn that is a long ass runway even by military standards"

So yea I have to agree it was over the top but the chick on chick fight scenes were pretty hot. Also at least they don't make you wait through the whole freaking list of credits to give you the clip that ties all the movies together. It might not make as much money as the other blockbusters coming out this summer but hope it makes enough so they will pick up #7 in the series.

If you liked the others in the series then you will like this movie.

If you only liked 5 and maybe 4 but the others were too much "Rice" or "Juvenile" then you should still like this one.

If you nitpick movies and certain things distract you too much from really enjoying something then, yea you might not really enjoy this. Turn your brain off, eat some popcorn and watch carmeggedon and you are fine.

Yeah. I haven't been able to do it since the first one. I'm normally pretty easy to entertain (I liked both IM3 and Star Trek ITD) but I just can't ****ing do these movies. I only have a cursory understanding of physics and this is just too over the top. And not by a little. It just chucks any attempt at making it seem realistic out the window.

Will not see.

It already been greenlit. It's supposed to open next July 2014. They are cranking these movies out quickly now.

kcxiv 05-25-2013 02:28 PM

7-8-9 are greenlit. They wanted to do all three back to back to back. But something prevented that.

Reaper16 05-26-2013 09:33 AM

How long was that damn runway? Entire kingdoms were conquered and paved over to make a runway that long.

They want that 3some going and it'll turn out to be a twosome with voyeurism involved.

'Hamas' Jenkins 05-27-2013 09:38 PM

Watched it last night. It wasn't as tight as Fast Five, which was actually a slickly paced heist/action thriller, but still enjoyable in all its ridiculousness. The Rock absolutely owned large portions of this movie.

I'll say this: I never thought I'd see The Hart Attack performed in a movie. Now that I have, my life is far nearer completion than before.

There were multiple homages to pro wrestling in it. That was my favorite.
