But the entire family who took the money smells a whole lot like sexual tension amongst relatives.

do you feel the tension between bateman and the pub owner he is 'rescuing' from debt? :D

It was filmed at Lake Allatoona in Georgia near the Little River Marina. I drove by the set everyday for several months.

Agreed, and we finished it in 3 days. Was definitely good, to no surprise.

Really didn't expect

I watched it. It was pretty decent. They went down a lot of roads they couldn't get paid off. Maybe they'll do it in later seasons but they ate up a lot of scenes with not contributing much to the story.

Showing Marty's initial dealings with Del was good. As was Wendy not getting a job.

But what the **** was with showing Petty's mom being a crackhead? Sure it shows he is tortured or whatever, but it didn't really correlate to him being driven. Same with the preacher freaking out at the end. What good was that?

Then Rachel bailing with some money felt like an afterthought.

It was pretty tight early then it got kind of sloppy. It seems like they had a good idea got it out then were like now what?

But that's all pretty menial. The acting was pretty good across the board, especially Julia Garner. There was some wonky math on the laundering. There's no way they got the 8 M in AND out of those 2 little places. But overall a pretty good watch.

Jacob may look and sound like a hillbilly but he was very intelligent and business savvy.

Ruth lived like trash but she wasn't a backwoods hillbilly. She was damned sharp too.

Agreed. I've lived in Jersey my entire life and few times have I ran into Jersey Shore types yet many see that. So be it.

I'm trying to avoid spoilers so I haven't read through the entire thread, but has it been mentioned that this family is mosquito proof?

Love this show. My favorite right now.

Backwoods hillbilly's can be intelligent, sharp and business savvy. Almost every local...main character or not...was portrayed as a backwoods hillbilly and/or white trash. If you didn't notice it I dont know what to tell you.

I just wasn't very impressed with the show. It could have been so much better. Good idea but the sloppy writing ruined it for me.

Because they have southern accents? WTF dude?

There is absolutely nothing about Jacob that makes him backwoods or hillbilly.

And if they are hillbilly or trash they are BY DEFINITION not intelligent, sharp or savvy.
