There is really no reason to hold up everyone's time for an hour for Chula Vista.

I had at least 5 or 6 guys I wanted more than Rice, but if I didn't draft him there I was going to end up with Verran Tucker starting for me at wideout.

Question for our co-commish: Does the game take lineman weight into account as far as OL/DL matchups? Say a light center takes on a huge NT, will that go into the stat crunching?

Ya stupid auto pick thought I had Greg little at 1

It's more about run blocking success and run stopping success. If the C doesn't have success run blocking and the DT is strong at stopping the run, then it's a double whammy. If a small C is good against the run and takes on a big, flabby DT who gets pushed back, then the C is more likely to win.

What if they're equally good players, like Wiegmann and Williams a few years ago?

Then that element is likely a standoff, notwithstanding some random variation on a game by game basis.

We don't want to share the game system too specifically since we don't want people to start gaming the rules, but the system will be more of a total team ability than a one-on-one matchup. If the C is weak and the other four OL are strong on the run, and they're taking on a D-line that has 3 strong D-linemen against the run and one weak one, it'll more or less offset even if they're not lined up across from each other. At least, I think that's how it works. cdcox has been doing that part of the work.

As he mentioned earlier, the key is to get good football players. If you get a team where everyone's good at passing assignments and stinks at running assignments, you're not going to run very well and should focus on the passing game in your game plan. Same with the reverse...but reversed.

I'm detecting a strategy at work with that team.

Hope I'm not asking too many questions. Would you mind touching on how one sets up a gameplan? Pass/run percentage sliders? Run left, run right? Can you target specific players?

Honestly, I'm not sure about that at this point. We have a plan, but we discussed that a long time ago and cdcox has been working mostly on the drafting and team management since then. It'll probably evolve as he gets the simulation elements programmed.
