Chiefs better get a New DB fast. Denver and Wes ?

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter

Wes Welker has agreed to terms with Denver Broncos.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter

Wes Welker lands a two-year, $12 million deal from the Broncos. Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Wes Welker. Have fun, Peyton.

tyton75 03-13-2013 12:51 PM

That could be very bad for us.

Agree.

What better way to motivate the Pats than threatening to go to one of their biggest threats?

Bewbies 03-13-2013 12:55 PM

Because a DB is the difference between 2-14 and 13-3? LMAO

I mean Welker is fast and all but hes had Tom Brady throwing to him and still has the most drops in the league.

I love the fact that Denver is breaking the bank on a bunch of old players. We play our cards right we could own this division for a decade if we build our team right.

Well, when you catch 110+ catches in 5 of the last 6 seasons - that means your targets are incredibly high and you're going to drop a few.

I say go for it... sign him up, bring him to Denver and lets rock.

Well, you're due... SD and OAK are twisting in the wind, DEN is older... not sure how much the likes of Alex Smith, Fasano and Avery scare people , but they're not horrible. Now, go fix your defense.

Catches more than most as well - hell of an option when you need to move the chains, would love to see him in the mix with Thomas and Decker.

If you think the Broncos are going to be anything but the best offense in the NFL by adding Welker...think again.

Them getting Welker basically means they'll rape us 2x next year.

But yeah maybe we can be the no. 6 seed!

Mile High Mania 03-13-2013 01:16 PM

Welker should ask how they will improve that secondary before signing, offense isn't the problem in Denver. Wes would be a great addition, no doubt, but the defense needs some tough muscle added.

Hootie 03-13-2013 01:18 PM

I am kinda 'not buying' that this is as real as some are reporting. It could be, but something tells me NE will jump in and bring him back.

Most definitely.

I'll admit that Stokely performed far better this year than I thought was possible.

RyFo18 03-13-2013 01:32 PM

If they give Welker a big contract, you have to think Decker walks in FA next year. Thomas a FA in 2015. They're in win now mode, understandably.

Hootie 03-13-2013 01:34 PM

yeah with Peyton only having 2-3 years left

a Welker signing makes PERFECT sense...

him manning (no pun) that slot instead of Stokely?

holy shit

that team will be amazing

they should be looking to draft a RB

Jerm 03-13-2013 01:35 PM

Only good thing about this move is hopefully it'd spur Dorsey into getting Smith in here or another quality CB.

This whole thing is being built with the 'SB or Bust' mentality ... started that way a year ago. If they don't get a ring, it's a failed bit.

So, how much do you guys think Steven Jackson will get in FA? I'd kinda like to see Denver go for him ... on the cheap if that's possible. Drop Moreno - hate him, move up Hillman and draft a rookie.

Jackson wants to be the man. No 2-3 back systems.

If Denver can accomidate that, they have a shot.

listopencil 03-13-2013 01:43 PM

Hmm. Thomas, Decker, Welker and Tamme. Moreno might actually be able to see some holes to run through if he's still on the team.

Who knows how it all works out... not sure if the prices were higher than market value for Fasano and Avery or not, but maybe it works out. You don't always need to sign the 'names'.

The best deals in FA are still to be had ... gotta wait a few more days.
