the absolute worse show you admit to watching or following

Tons of garbage shows on TV these days. So it got me thinking:

What is the worst show that you will admit to watching?

Come on I know you guys sit down and watch Dancing with the Stars with the wife!

So... who's ready to be made fun of?

Mine is the X-factor...I can't explain it...

Fire Me Boy! 11-30-2012 09:01 AM

Glee. The wife and I started watching back when it was actually pretty good and before it completely sold out to iTunes.

the steam 11-30-2012 09:05 AM

Line of Fire. It was a mob show from the mid 2000's and it completely sucked.

Cheater5 11-30-2012 09:29 AM

'Finding Bigfoot'. This is just a bad show that doesn't change from week to week, with three idiots who think every squirrel/owl/dog/bear/deer print or call is a 'squatch', and includes the female 'Velma/Scooby Doo' character played by some biologist (who's never been laid) attempting to lend some semblence of credibility.

Yet I record it and watch. Every time.

Hootie 11-30-2012 09:32 AM

Raising the Bar or The Event

Ceej 11-30-2012 09:33 AM

I guess I would say Hardcore Pawn.

JD10367 11-30-2012 09:37 AM

"Beauty and the Beast". I know, cut up my man card and cut my balls off. I watch it mainly for Kristin Kreuk (although it's hard to buy her as an ass-kicking cop, since I still think of her as Lana from "Smallville").

Fish 11-30-2012 09:40 AM

Ghost Hunters. Stupid fake BS, but I can't keep from watching..

Jenson71 11-30-2012 09:42 AM

666 Park Avenue. It's based off a chic-lit novel, it's wildly implausible (not just the fantasy aspects, but also things like a teenager supporting her invalid grandmother in a Park Avenue penthouse), its drama is pretty forced, nothing is particularly thrilling, and it's getting canceled, but I like the production value, the big-name actors, and want to see how it ends up.

No way dude I love Ancient Aliens! I think I have all of them saved on my DVR. Their subjects are quite a reach though.

I have an obsession with medical shows, (my all time favorite was House). I like learning all of the jargon and I usually read about whatever diseases were featured that week.

That being said...

Lumpy likes to watch Grays Anatomy.

(And by lumpy I mean me.)

Molitoth 11-30-2012 10:30 AM

True Blood is the worst show that I follow.
Everything else that I currently watch is badass, or else I don't bother.

Homeland, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Fringe, Justified

True, the wife and kids were in to Teen Mom a few months ago. I got sucked into watching enough of that for it to qualify me for man card revocation. I beg the panel for leniency.

I prefer to think that we don't have just one man card. We have a small "deck" of man cards, for lack of a better term. Losing one card doesn't make you not a man... losing ALL your man cards makes you not a man.

But every now and then the stuff they capture on video is pretty damned hard to dispute.

Yup. I found out my mom and dad ate at the Moon River Brewing Co last year during their visit to Savannah, GA. I showed him that episode a couple months ago, he said he probably wouldn't have eaten there if he saw that show before hand.

Castillo San Marcos was another good one, you either have to believe what they are showing is real, or they are blatant frauds faking this stuff. Oh shit I just remembered Old Downtown Sacramento, that one was pretty damn scary too.

I think the best one was the contorting shadow they captured at the fort in Canada. That was truly creepy, and also not something that could have easily been faked.

Deberg_1990 11-30-2012 11:56 AM

I've watched tons of bad reality shows. Remember all the bad reality dating shows a few years back? Joe Millionare, Average Joes, Blind Date, Elimidate, etc........

Okay, yeah. Blind Date was amazing. Terrible. But amazing.

That's probably the worst show I've ever watched with any regularity. That show is a total guilty pleasure. I can't believe I almost forgot about it.

The only thing I liked about Elimidate was the theme song. "1, 2, 3 - Elimi-daaaaaate!" Classic.

bevischief 11-30-2012 12:04 PM

I haven't heard of over half of the shows listed in this thread.

underEJ 11-30-2012 12:19 PM

Not on anymore, and I came to watch it late in its run, but I watched the last two seasons of 7th Heaven. Terrible show. I watched because I had convinced myself there was a subversive element to it like angry writers selling family schlock thinly disguising the fact that these were just terrible people at heart. Ultimately I think most of that was there, but it was accidental from bad writing rather than the fine satire I had hoped it would be.

Bump 11-30-2012 12:20 PM

I watched Greek. Yes I know....

but I had netflix and no cable if that's a valid excuse.

and jersey shore....

lcarus 11-30-2012 12:29 PM

Used to be One Life To Live, now it's General Hospital. There's a character on there Todd Manning and the actors name is Roger Howarth. He's seriously a talented actor.

http://americastelevisionsweetheart....er-howarth.jpg

Well.....you asked. The show is ****ing stupid as hell but the guy is a damn good actor for the most part. I watched that shit with my mom and grandparents since I was a toddler.

I would also say Ancient Aliens as far as "dumb" shows go. I mean it's entertaining as hell to me, but a lot of it is pretty damn stupid. A lot of MacGyver is pretty damn stupid but I like that show as well.

Heh. Don't even care. There's worse stuff than that on television. I watched that stupid shit with my grandma a lot before she died. I always found it funny that Dr. House watched general hospital in the break room while hiding from Cuddy or whoever.

Speaking of shitty shows, my brother's wife watched Vampire Diaries and forces him to watch with her. God damn what a stupid show. They were watching it last night, and I walked in there to tell my brother something really quick, and she FLIPPED THE **** OUT. "SHUT THE HELL UP THEY'RE ABOUT TO MAKE LOVE AHHH!!!!" Grey's started out really strong. The first two seasons are fantastic.

I stopped watching, however. The dismissal of many of my favorite characters made it difficult to continue watching.

It's a fake show about storage lockers.

Fake...I had no idea, interested in hearing how so. Obviously the people are putting on an embellished front somewhat, what did they do to make the show fake though?

The Chiefs.

After that would be AFV. I've watched it from the beginning, even during the Daisy Fuentes years. :doh!:

Probably the only really embarrassing one was I watched Beverly Hills 90210 with my wife for a couple of seasons back in the early '90's.

how bout hoarders...

cup cake wars... Yes I do watch that with my kids..

whoman69 11-30-2012 02:57 PM

I usually don't watch new shows because they generally end up being cancelled. I have an unusual taste in shows judging from the shows I have broken that stand for.

That Was Then- The series starred James Bulliard as Travis Glass, a 30-year-old who finds his life in a rut. Still living at home with his mother (Bess Armstrong) he works as a door-to-door salesman. The girl of his dreams, played by Kiele Sanchez, is married to his older brother, Gregg, played by Brad Raider. Travis is able to trace his life's downward spiral to a single week in high school in 1988. After telling his best friend, played by Tyler Labine, that he wished for a second chance to make everything right, he lies in bed listening to the song "Do It Again" by The Kinks, when a bolt of lightning hits his house, and an electrical jolt sends him back to that week in 1988. Glass tries to correct things that originally went wrong, but finds his new life isn't quite to his expectations, and must return from the past.

New Amsterdam- John Amsterdam (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is an NYPD homicide detective who is 400 years old, but has the appearance of a 35-year-old. He was a Dutch soldier in Manhattan in the year 1642 when he stepped in front of a sword to save the life of a Native American girl during a massacre of her tribe. The girl in turn rescued Amsterdam by weaving a spell that conferred immortality upon him. It was also prophesied that he would not age until he finds his one true love, and only then will he become whole and ready for mortality.

PunkinDrublic 11-30-2012 05:43 PM

Cougar Wives on TLC. These old chicks in their 60s and 70s dating these allegedly straight guys in their 20s.

Easy 6 11-30-2012 05:58 PM

I dont watch dumb tv.

But one of the COOLEST shows, and only reality show i watch, is Bar Rescue, John Taffer turns disgusting turds into profit machines, want to smack down a stupid bar owner, manager? want a bar that caters to the available clientele? want to know the median age, income and taste of the people driving by your bar every day? then John Taffer is your guy, the results speak for themselves, 9 of 10 owners are overwhelmed with how great the guy is.

Having been a bartender, from dives to a four star, THAT guy knows his bidness.

Awesome show, cant wait for the new season.

Buehler445 11-30-2012 06:07 PM

I forgot about Storage Wars. It is pure shit. And I still watch it. I don't DVR it. But if there is nothing on Ill watch it. And I don't know why. I hate Storage wars Texas. I recognize that it is fake and just plain awful, but I watch it.

Probably the worst show I've watched is Camelot. I kept waiting for it to get good. When it didn't, I kept waiting to see Eva Greens tits some more. Her tits are top notch. But the show was garbage.

CoMoChief 11-30-2012 06:46 PM

Saved By the Bell was like my religion on the TV set in elementary school/jr high days early to mid 90's. I know everything there is about that show, seen every episode about 100x each all the way up through the "college years" series. Even watched that crappy Las Vegas wedding episode/TV movie.

But now? I watch the Voice. I have a great admiration for anyone who can really sing their ass off.
