Raiders game = BIGGEST game of the year

This game is DO OR DIE man.

If we win, we pretty much **** ourselves big time. Jags would get #1 and what would happen with us? would we get #2 or #3 if the Chiefs beat the raiders and the Jags finish with 2 wins and the Chiefs and raiders both finish with 3 wins.

This is huge man! We gotta suck big time! We can't lose Geno Smith!

007 12-09-2012 07:02 PM

Sadly, we have habit of winning in Oakland.

In58men 12-09-2012 07:02 PM

Pioli will draft Landry Jones before Geno Smith.

Biggest game of the decade.

With one loss we can all but guarantee we get a shot at a franchise QB.

He was, the rest of the team wasn't..

It's going to be a pleasure watching the Chiefs not even being capable of ****ing up right and losing that #1 pick

Do the Raiders even have a first round pick this year? Or is this one of the 15 or so that they traded to Cincinnati?

I would rather have multiple picks in 2nd and 3rd if it were me. I think Reggie will sniff out some starting talent there and that's the only way we become competitive soon... We have too many holes to fill.

The Chiefs just lost by 23 points to the team that just squeaked by the Raiders last week. I guess you aren't aware of the true art form that losing has become for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Exactly.

Hammock Parties 12-09-2012 08:20 PM

I'm pretty sure Charles has NEVER had 100 yards against Oakland. Gonna look it up.

Hammock Parties 12-09-2012 08:22 PM

He had a 103-yard game against them in 2009, but he had like a 50-yard TD run in that game.

Other than that he's had an 87-yard game and the rest are terrible.

Oakland's line has owned us consistently. I see no reason for that to change.

mdchiefsfan 12-09-2012 08:45 PM

Even if we beat Oakland we'll both be at 3 wins, we have the tie breaker with SOS. Head to head doesn't matter in league standings. Right?

Dr. Johnny Fever 12-09-2012 08:46 PM

I find it kind of funny how some people are so convinced we'd take Geno Smith even if we do get the top pick. Or the 2nd or 3rd or 4th pick even if he's still available. We have no idea what (insert GM) will do.

The other thing I find funny is that we just "have to" have the #1 pick in a year everyone knows is a down year for QB's... like anyone is such a sure thing.

Ah hope springs eternal.

notorious 12-09-2012 08:48 PM

Best case scenario:

We get the first pick and trade back for more picks. Draft a RG and DT in the first and use a second for Alex Smith.

Who cares?

We need to have our choice of every QB available.

And we need to have the top choice in EVERY round for:

1. Getting the best player on the board.

2. Trade-down value.

Agreed. And to get this, we need to lose out and have the Jags win a game. We both lose out, and the Jags have the top pick in the even numbered rounds... which would be the first pick on both the second and third day of the draft.

This year's pick was conditional. It was a 1st round pick if Oakland made it to the AFC championship. Otherwise, it would be a 2nd round pick. Unfortunately for you we do still have our 1st round this year. I hope you guys win out the rest of the season so you'll be calling Reggie McKenzie to deal for our first round pick.

And it was only two picks, which isn't unheard of. Other teams have given up more to get someone they wanted.

JCharles1981 12-09-2012 11:25 PM

I don't know if losing out will matter. Remember the 3rd and final season Herm Edwards was our head coach? We finished 2-14, but because of a new GM takeover the following year, we got stuck with a 5 year, $61 million contract for Matt Cassell, who previously spent 4 years as the BACKUP to Tom Brady. The fact he didn't even start in college should have raised a red flag for Clark Hunt.

O.city 12-09-2012 11:27 PM

With new GM's come new QB's and coaches.

Hopefully it won't be a FA QB.

I wouldn't be bragging about how much worse KC did against the Browns than Oakland did. The score may have been closer, but we got our asses kicked up & down the field much worse than the Chiefs did. Your defense held them to 350 yards, we gave up almost 500. Never once had the lead like KC did. Chiefs D ranks #16 overall, Oaktown is #30. So you think you guys suck? Just wait'll you get a gander at the condition the Raiders defense is in right now.... we'll show you suck!

FringeNC 12-10-2012 03:22 PM

The Carolina game is the only one this season where the Chiefs had a passing attack that was NFL-caliber. With Bowe out, it seems unlikely we'll be able to move the ball in the air, and Charles is unlikely to have more than one long TD run. I haven't looked at the line, but the Raiders should be a 7 point favorite, at least. It's impossible to compete in this league when you can't throw the ball AT ALL.
