Chicago Bears defensive end Turk McBride is out for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

McBride was carted off the field during Monday's training camp practice.
The 28-year-old entered the league with the Kansas City Chiefs and played for three teams in his first seven seasons. McBride signed a one-year deal with the Bears on March 20.

He's the second casualty on the defensive line for Chicago, which lost defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis last week when the former first-round pick surprisingly retired.

McBride has 24 career starts and 9.5 sacks. Along with Ellis, he was signed to help offset the loss in free agency of Isreal Idonije.

Maybe they can get Tank his counterpart to fill in.

That's too bad. Seemed like a nice guy. Lot of season enders, so far.

Based on his Wikipedia page, it looks he has done a whole lot of nothing in his career, except for be on TV.

Kansas City Chiefs[edit]
McBride was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2007 NFL Draft's second round. He signed a three-year contract with the team on July 24, 2007.[3] He was featured in HBO's Hard Knocks in 2007. He spent the 2008 season on injured reserve. The Chiefs waived McBride on September 15 2009.

Detroit Lions[edit]
McBride was claimed off waivers by the Detroit Lions in September 2009.

New Orleans Saints[edit]
After the 2010 season, he became a free agent and on July 31, 2011, he signed with the New Orleans Saints.

Chicago Bears[edit]
On March 20, 2013, he signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears.[4]

I didn't realize he was still in the league

Rain Man 07-29-2013 12:40 PM

Holy cow. According to PFR, he had 5 sacks in 2010. That's quite serviceable.

Too bad he's not making much of it in the arena league.
