Set-up men, even really good ones, aren't that hard to find; viable starters are.

Finally, relievers are up and throwing quite a bit, so it's not like this is a low-stress situation physically. Going to a set, five-day schedule might, ironically enough, help to preserve his career.
You usually don't see injured relievers converting to starters but you usually see injured starters converting to relievers. Might be worth a shot though. Relievers are a dime a dozen it seems now and most don't have long careers.
