Dwayne Bowe heading to injured reserve
Dwayne Bowe heading to injured reserve
Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was ruled out for this week’s game against the Raiders early on Monday and now he’s been ruled out for the rest of the season. PFT has learned via a league source that Bowe will be placed on injured reserve as a result of the broken ribs he suffered in Sunday’s lopsided loss to the Browns. Bowe had two catches for 70 yards before leaving Sunday’s game. Bowe ends the year with 59 catches for 801 yards and three touchdowns, a fairly significant drop from his last two seasons. It could be the last work he does as a Chief. Bowe is set to become a free agent at the end of the season and he could be on his way out of Kansas City after failing to come to terms on a long-term deal after they franchised him last offseason. Bowe said last month that he’d like to stay in Kansas City, but there’s a lot of time between now and the start of free agency for other options to become more appealing. There’s also likely to be a fair amount of change coming to the Chiefs organization, which would certainly impact what they decide to do in regard to Bowe. |

Hope that wasn't his last game as a Chief, but this helps us toward our goal of being #1.

We'll be ok. We've got McCluster to take over the #1 WR spot. LMAO
|
His last major play we are going to remember him for is a long reception he should have scored on but couldn't keep his feet to get in the end zone. :banghead:
Best WR Chiefs have had in many, many years, but yet, never put it all together to be the best he could be. :shake: |

On any other franchise, Bowe gets lost in the shuffle of good receivers to have played on that team.
Because we have such a piss-poor history of WRs...Bowe looks like a stud. He is inconsistant...and overrated. Not worth anything near elite receiver money. |

There's no need for him to play again this year anyway. The only question is has he put on his uniform for the last time here.

I hope the new GM gets him locked up long term.

Hopefully he and Clark have talked about it already

I have no doubts that our new GM will re-sign Bowe long term

I'm going to make a commemorative "Duane Beau" t-shirt.
Actually, I'm a fan of Bowe and I really want us to keep him. With a good quarterback, I think he could move into the top tier of receivers in the league. Frankly, he hasn't been that far off in production, especially considering that half the passes coming to him are hopelessly overthrown, underthrown, or otherwise off target. |

No worries....Baldwin will step it up for the playoff drive

I'm planning on a rib injury at work too... I'll be on IR until after the new year...

Excellent, this makes it much harder for the Chiefs to shoot themselves in the foot. GENO SMITH HERE WE COME.
|
Funny how now that Larry Fitzgerald has similar numbers to Bowe this year with shitty qb's. Id love to see wha bowe could do with a good qb.
Bowe has had a good career with some really really bad bad bad qb's. Im talking worst in the league for years qb's. lol |

Bowe has been fantastic for us. From the shitty QB's and OC's he's had to play with, we could usually count on Bowe. He has had some drops, but I'll remember him for the good times we've shared.
He's a stud and it would be fantastic for Geno Smith if a new GM can lock Bowe up. That would have to make him wanna stay wouldn't it? |
Now we get to see how bad Baldwin truly is as a #1 WR for the rest of the season
no excuses now you homeristic Baldwin defenders |

4 catches in the remaining 3 games PLACE YO BETS it's a tough one, because to go over, he'd have to have at least 2 catches in 2 games. WHOA |

There'll be no more AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA but you may feel a little sick.

59 balls 800 yard no excuses for Baldwin now taking on all those targets. |

WR could be a consideration in the first.

Bowe is currently 6th in career receiving yards for the Chiefs. With 818 yards receiving next year, he'll move past Stephone Paige, Carlos Carson, and Henry Marshall to move into third place all time.
Actually, I just noticed that he passed Otis Taylor in the Carolina game to move into third on receptions, and he only needs one reception to move into a tie for second. I think it's safe to say that he's been productive. Receptions - Yards 1 Tony Gonzalez 916 10940 2 Otis Taylor 410 7306 3 Henry Marshall 416 6545 4 Carlos Carson 352 6360 5 Stephone Paige 377 6341 6 Dwayne Bowe 415 5728 |
byebye bowe. it was fun. I hope you sign with a superbowl contender. go get your ring breh
|
I just had an argument with a friend of mine. He says Bowe drops too many passes and he won't mind seeing him go. I really don't even have the words to respond other than calling him an idiot.
|
Bowe has dropped 6 passes this year.
|
i dont care that he drops balls, he still produces and we dont have another player on this team at WR with his size, balance and route running that has the talent to be a #1 WR or even a #2 WR at this point.
McCluster and Baldwin are garbage. Bowe: -can beat the press -can go over the middle -runs good routes -good balance -good run after catch -good size -okay speed He drops occasional balls and thats fine, but he is a WR that knows how to at least get open to try and make a play/catch having to deal with a lot of shitty balls being thrown his way by terrible QBs for his ENTIRE NFL career as a Chief. Croyle, Huard, Thigpen, Cassel, Quinn, Palko, etc |

Is Bowe an UFA or a RFA after this season?

Consummate team player and true professional, giving it his all to improve our draft position. :thumb:

He would have had another 1,000 yard season if he wouldn't have got hurt, and that's with Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn throwing him the ball, just think what he would be able to do with good qb.

Look at what Manning has done with Thomas of the Broncos. The guy played in an option offense. He was never even required to run the full tree, much less master it. Of course a new QB isn't going to "coach up" Bowe in that same way, but you've got to think that a really good QB would make a huge difference in Bowe's production. |

Bowe has less drops this year than most WR's who are considered elite...

Bowe's going to end up on Dallas.
|
its not really the number of drops he's had, it is when he has had them. he's disappeared in the few games that have mattered since he's been here. he had zero catches against baltimore in the only playoff game he has been here for. against oakland in a lose and you're done situation last year he had six receptions for 80 yards and one td. ok, but not elite numbers at all. he's a good wide receiver but he wants to get paid like he's elite, and he just isn't.

The amount of idiots that think bowe isn't elite baffles me.
1000 yard reciever with shit throwing to him his whole career. Lead the league in touchdowns in 2010, half of which were pure YAC. I almost want him to leave just so people can see what they're missing. |
I'd love to see him and Dorsey in NE next year if Bowe doesn't stay.
|
we don't need bowe, we have Baldwin and McCluster
besides, we can use his money for...um....for lining Clark's pockets on top of Carr's money... this team is filthy with talent, **** Bowe and his 900000 drops a season, our rookie QB will be better off without him... http://s3-ec.buzzfed.com/static/enha...54551408-1.gif |

Also, Bowes 2010 season was pretty comparable to Calvin's 2011 season. The only difference is that while Calvin had Matt stafford throwing to him, bowe has Matt cassel. Also, I'm pretty sure bowe has more touchdowns and possibly more yards than Andre had at Bowes point in his career. |
Larry Fitzgerald = 652 yards and 4TD's so far 2012
Dwayne Bowe = 801 yards 3 TD's. Both with total shit at QB. But Bowe cant compare to really good receivers. |

Bowe and Charles collectively account for somewhere around 85-88% of our offensive production. I like our odds of the #1 pick better than ever now.
