More than likely we will have about 3 more seasons worth of it until Durant hits 27. Sit back and enjoy it.

AND the series is over. Houston has Harden and nothing else. OKC has Thabo on him and then doubles him whenever he touches the ball. Houston may not score a field goal.

Not going to be good, I imagine. Although they're still in this one somehow.

I expect LeBron to keep beastin' then. When he does start to lose a step I expect him to work even more on his J similar to what MJ did when he got older. He's a treat to watch.

I expect him to beast as well, but that will be when Durant and everybody else will have a legit chance to win it then.

I can't stand that bundle of sticks, Wade. Duncan is right up there

okcchief 04-22-2013 11:19 AM

Had fun at the game last night, and glad the real season is here.

Very happy with the way Serge played last night, and hope to see some consistency out of him this run.

I was kind of surprised Harden got a mix of boos and cheers before the game. I say cheer him for the intros and get on him after.

It's a lot more frustrating watching him draw contact when he's not on your side. Funny how that works.

Houston really needs to give him some help. They aren't ready for prime time. I can see them getting hot for one game and stealing it max.2

okcchief 04-22-2013 11:21 AM

It's also funny how an early lead disappears after Derek Fisher gets minutes, then gets built before half after he's pulled. He hits 3 threes in the third quarter that will validate Brook's delusion.

They just have no size, except for Asik. And if Lin is going to play like that, they have no chance to get better. Harden is great, but when you can throw Thabo and Westbrook at him (and give help), it's going to be very difficult for him to go off.

I think Parsons is a keeper, but he needs to be your 3rd or 4th best player, not your 2nd/3rd.

Getting to where I can't stand the Clippers across the board. Paul and Griffin are flopper/whiners, Barnes is a nut, don't like Turiaf and Crawford is Randy Moss.

Crawford's pretty awesome.

KevB 04-22-2013 09:49 PM

Conley playing as poorly as he's played in 3 years

KevB 04-22-2013 09:54 PM

This series is over. If Gasol/Randolph aren't going to have a consistent advantage, Griz have no chance. The guard matchup isn't particularly close given how Crawford is playing.

-King- 04-22-2013 09:56 PM

I really didn't expect this. I thought Memphis would win pretty easily this series. Thought Clippers were too soft to match up.

When he wants to be. Ask Portland fans if he's awesome, or Atlanta that second season he was there. When he's actually engaged, he's able to create his own shot perhaps better than anyone in the league.

Memphis should win the two at home. This one is going at least 6 or 7.

You haven't paid much attention to this matchup I would guess then. The Clippers just matchup well against Memphis for whatever reason. I think it's the one matchup where they miss Rudy Gay. They are good enough inside to neutralize the big men, and their perimeter play is substantially better.

I would agree with that. I think LA wins the series though.

Strangely enough I'm rooting for Memphis. I think OKC matches up better against LA, but I just like Memphis better.

I hope I'm wrong, and the Grizz comeback tonight. The Bigs need to step up!

Not arguing, but they best Memphis last year, and beat them in the season series this year. They just seem to have their number.

Clips have won 8 of last 12 against the Griz. Zach isn't what he was 2 years ago. Gasol is a stud on both ends, but that's not enough. Paul plays Conley really physical, and it really takes him out of his game. Then Memphis' bench is mediocre, and Crawford tends to get loose with only Bayless typically guarding him. As Okc said, it's a bad matchup for Memphis. Honestly, it might be the worst matchup in the league for them.

okcchief 04-22-2013 10:16 PM

It still amazes me that someone who plays basketball for a living can't shoot 40% from the line.

KevB 04-22-2013 10:16 PM

Oh, and Lionel Hollins has done a wonderful job completely getting into Ed Davis' head. He'd really improved as a Raptor. He comes to Memphis, Hollins denigrates the trade publicly, refuses to play Davis and now he's playing like a rookie.

KevB 04-22-2013 10:17 PM

How many times will Memphis' perimeter players leak out on the defensive glass while Jordan bats the ball out from behind with the Clips getting to the loose ball? So damn frustrating.

KevB 04-22-2013 10:19 PM

That ankle has been giving Zach trouble, not going to help the cause.

Had LAC in 7 at beginning of thread. Haven't seen anything that would lead me to change my mind yet. Clippers are just a better team, but the games are going to be played a little differently in Memphis I expect.

Ed Davis was very good for us this year. What an awful trade that was. Too bad to hear they've destroyed his development as well.

I was referring to DeAndre Jordan. He was shooting like 38% the last time I looked. Actually, the Clippers team is pretty bad all around though.

Yeah he's terrible at it too. Always has been.

KevB 04-22-2013 10:28 PM

Zach had the position

Agreed. Starters have gotten back in it, but terrible FT shooting and the benches are going to be big the next 8 minutes.

KC_Connection 04-22-2013 10:32 PM

M. Gasol is one of the best all-around players in the NBA these days. Reminding me a bit of Duncan. Could use some more help, though, clearly.

No different than a punter that can't make field goals might be one way to look at it. Not everybody can be a specialist in everything... well, other lebron anyway.

Free throws are so completely different from everything else in basketball. Rarely are you doing something standing perfectly still while performing a motion with a high degree of precision.

I wouldn't be surprised if 1/3 of the top 50 players off all time never shot 70% from the line.

Dirtiest, floppiest mother****er since John Stockton. Did he even get fined this year with the flopping changes or just get a warning?

KevB 04-22-2013 10:41 PM

I'd hoped that Prince would turn it up a tick (or 10) once the playoffs start. Unfortunately, it's gone the other way. Others have upped the intensity and he's done nothing. Just a bystander watching the action around him.

We are talking about 38% though. That's just embarrassing no matter how you defend it. Dwight Howard missed more free throws this season than Steve Nash has over his 17 year career this ****ing year and he's still way better than 38%.

AdumbGuy 04-22-2013 10:42 PM

I think Memphis is the only team that could give OKC some kind of trouble in the west, if only they can get past the clips. Just way too much talent on that clippers roster though.

Hmm, never thought I'd ever wind up typing that

Prince hasn't been good in like 6 years. Don't know why Hollinger wanted him.

Anyone that gets past the first round is capable of giving OKC trouble, but I agree they are better off playing LA over Memphis.

KC_Connection 04-22-2013 10:52 PM

Grizzlies getting destroyed with no Gasol in for just a few minutes.

KevB 04-22-2013 10:53 PM

Memphis just has nobody on their bench interested in bringing energy. So, Hollins having to play starters more minutes and they can't keep up. Like I said, this series is over. The difference when the benches are in the game is 5-10 points, and the Griz starters can't make that up.

KevB 04-22-2013 10:57 PM

Griz struggle to score, Clips amp the energy and get uncontested layups

yeah, clips might be the most athletic team in the league overall, but they stilll don't really have anybody to guard durant and westbrook. You can't outgun OKC in my opinion.

The only team that could've given them trouble was memphis by punishing them inside and forcing them to play slow. But they'll never make it past LAC, I think. Oh well, they probably wouldn't have been OKC anyway.

KevB 04-22-2013 11:12 PM
