Speaking of which (not really, but who cares?), what ever happened to the second Cloverfield movie that was supposed to come out?

I like how the got GlaDOS from the Portal games to be the synthesized announcer voice.

Dude, the trailer music is completely independent of the score.

The production company hires a composer or trailer house to score the trailer.

I'm probably in the minority, but I enjoyed the first Cloverfield.

From wikipedia:

In a 2012 interview, screenwriter Drew Goddard gave an update saying, "I'm in, I'm ready to do it...someone call J. J. and tell him to get moving, but because Matt and J. J. and I have been fortunate enough to be busy, it's hard syncing our schedules up. We're all very passionate about returning to that world." When asked if an idea is on paper, he responded: "If you asked each of us what we wanted to do, you'll get three different answers, which is how the first film was. The aesthetic of Cloverfield benefits from that. Three voices pulling it. Look, nothing would make me happier than to get the three of us in the room to get started."[85] In a later interview in April of that same year, Goddard said, "We didn’t set out to make a franchise, we set out to make a good movie. But I love that world and that universe, so if there was an idea that excited us enough, and we felt like there was a reason to do it, we would do it."

I liked it too. It was a new and different take on the classic giant monster flick.

I just thought it was a nice, fresh different POV.

And no I haven't seen that dumb first person horror movie.

The name escapes me at the moment.

Blair Witch.

Plus he gave us Lost which was good for the first two seasons

Edit: Oops, I just realized that the trailer was out and commented before I watched it and my comment makes no sense now....

I hope those Metal Gears beat the Monsters.

Advance RIP to Idris Elba's character.
