OLB With 21 Sacks The Last Two Seasons Available
Calvin Watkins of Fanhouse reports that the Cowboys have put OLB Greg Ellis on the trading block.
Ellis, 34, is due $4.15 million in the final year of his contract. He's been sent home from OTAs, so the team is serious about dealing him to open up a starting spot for 2007 first-rounder Anthony Spencer. The Cowboys are targeting the Bengals and Patriots, though the Pats are said to have no interest. Ellis has 21 sacks over the last two seasons, so he certainly has value. May. 21 - 10:03 pm et |
Wow, are the Cowboys cleaning up shop or what?
|
Get him. Soon our entire LB group will be eating at Golden Corral at 4:30 in the afternoon.

Pioli seems to like old guys but i imagine most teams are just gonna let the Cowboys stew until they just cut him.
|
he would probably play the 7 or 8 technique with haley's scheme profootball.com
"the 7 technique is the most popular of the techniques in football today, to play it you must tackle the ball carrier whenever possible and try not to be blocked, after you make a good play you can either say Wooo, or wooo wooo, or even a heck yeah, but choose wisely. Wolf Shirt is not appropriate to wear while playing, but often fans like to partake in wearing said shirt" |

He's 34......if we even think about trading away a draft pick for him, Pioli should go **** himself with a cactus.

Waters and next years seventh? We could just swap "Vrabes" straight up since he don't wanna play here.

For the right price, I'd make a run at Ellis.
Remind yourself that the Chiefs just set an NFL record for pass-rush futility then ask yourself why we wouldn't go after Ellis if the demands are reasonable? |
TO THE CANOE!
|
Ask yourself why they're trading him if he's such a sack specialist.
|
A trade wouldn't be required:
ESPN's Matt Mosley says OLB Greg Ellis is more likely to be cut than traded. Ellis is 34, but it's not easy to find players that have 21 sacks over the last two seasons. He won't have any trouble finding work as a free agent. |
For the right price I would bring him in but keep him with a short contract. He's been whining for a new contract in Dallas for awhile and when he didn't get that he wanted to be traded.
