That's more like a Jason Babin/Jared Allen dance.

Our stoner duo should have done the C-Walk instead.

Wohoo!!! lets all celebrate when we're 1-8!!!! Hell even the players do it.

I bet they're all gonna have a nice old fashioned high dollar card game on the plane ride home.

So which member of Save Our Chiefs took out the ref Frank Dribbon style and saved our asses from winning this?

ThaVirus 11-12-2012 11:00 PM

They did play very well.

DJ was a ****ing HOSS all over the place. Hali and Houston were bringing good pressure. The defensive line did a good job of holding their ground and not getting washed out. Also, the coverage was actually pretty decent, although I think the rain had more to do with that than we'd like to admit.

They just need to bring that kind of intensity, minus the dumbass celebrations and mistakes, every single week. This is the kind of defense we all thought we'd have going into the season. It's maddening to see us play like this against the Saints, Ravens and Steelers, then see how atrocious we can be against teams like the Bills and Raiders.

ShowtimeSBMVP 11-12-2012 11:00 PM

At this point they're just trying to have fun. I can't blame them. Now that TD celebration by Houston and the rest of the team was too much. The fact that it was called back should have made the penalty invalid.

But really, penalizing celebrations is ****ing stupid. Its a ****ing game...lets keep politics in washington and stop politicizing football.

Seriously, Hali and Houston could bring more pressure and be more disruptive if we had any imagination in our rush packages.

These guys are always lined up in the same place.

They make it easy for the offense to account for them.

I agree. But it would also be nice to play with a lead more often. These guys never really get to pin their ears back and rush the passer with a lead. I think that makes a big difference as well.

Yeah, the defense played good but in the end we still find a way to lose. We are a bunch of losers and losers always find a way to lose. Bad penalties, dropped kickoff returns, Excessive/Premature celebrations, dropped passes that should have been first downs, missed field goals, etc, etc. Just one of these things can cost a good team a football game and we comitted mistake after mistake all throughout the game. This is the stuff Romeo should be addressing but will he? He will just get up there and say we played well and we fell a little short. What a joke !!!! This is why we SUCK

Despite everything you said, with a reasonably average QB we win this game by 7 at least and with a good QB it's 10-14 minimum. That was very clear tonight.

chiefqueen 11-12-2012 11:37 PM

RE the celebration penalty (which was still a valid penalty IMO) if they do not celebrate it is 4th down, we get the ball back around midfield probably. Maybe we score a TD a few plays later and the game does not go to OT.

I agree. If it were not for this stupid selfish act we might win this game. In the immediate future does it matter? No, we are still 2-7. But these are the mistakes that cost games and we didn't commit one mistake, we committed several and that is inexcusable. In order to be a winner you have to act like a winner and we act like losers. If this was a Belichick team would this happen? No, and if it did they would be stapled to the bench that's what. On this team it's accepted and there are no consequences. That's why we are losers.

I think it was being on National TV that got them acting like half a tard out there personally. But as per the norm in Romeo's style they are undisciplined and suck like no team has ever sucked before. Thanks Pioli, Crennel and Cassel for this wonderful memory of a season.

DJ still plays well. The way he hits the gaps and makes the tackle for a 1 yd loss, he does it every game. He's great at it. I don't know how you can't see that if you watch the game. One bright spot on this shit team.

The problem I had with it is if the refs would have originally called it a incomplete pass we would have never had that penalty. I think after they called it incomplete everything after that should be voided, but no they had to call it a fumble in which dancing penalty occurred and gave steelers first down.

Sorter 11-13-2012 01:47 AM

Let's be real shall we?

Our defense matches up pretty well with Pitt. We played them very tough last year with Tyler ****ing Palko. They have a wounded O-line, their 2X SB winning QB got KO'd, and they were operating with a 3rd string RB from GT (who I love, but is not above average by any stretch of the imagination). Additionally, they were missing their other top 30 WR and were able to beat the Chiefs with a QB who has throwing mechanics that makes Tebow say "Hot damn, is that what I look like? Jesus".

IF you think that our DL is elite or even above average, you're mistaken. While this D can play well at times, this was a D taking advantage of a unique situation and was able to play to it's strengths due to to poor playcalling and a sad misuse of exploitable matchups.

Simply Red 11-13-2012 02:07 AM

Don't underestimate the power of "coaching to get a job".

Crennel did the same aggressive playcalling when he took over as interim HC. I said all off season that I was concerned that the style he used to win the job wouldn't match the style he used to hold on to the job.

When this D plays the way it SHOULD, is properly coached and properly prepared, they are a good unit.
We've lost a shit ton of games and have dumbasses like blackob saying we should trade our stars, but this D has TONS of potential.
Luckily we have Matt, and Pioli's clown squad to insure we get a QB to go along with them.

Well, that's what we said back in 2009. Then RAC came in and things looked better in 2010. Now we are back where we were. It's not just the coaching. We have inconsistant players.

Not true. Dorsey was not a captain. Berry was elected captain along with DJ in September. The offensive captains were Lilja and Coswell. Colquitt and Copper for STs.

I take that back, if you watch the tape of the first 8 games, he's not wearing the patch. Arrowhead Pride reported in September that he was a captain but I think they were wrong.

He wasn't even wearing the patch last week against San Diego.

Poe is playing above average for a rook but if the Chiefs don't change their

scheme that is all he will be. There are a lot of folks here that will disagree

but...This team does have talent on Defense but young football players don't

want to play the "bend but don't break" BS...they want to be aggressive. Bring

in an aggressive calling coach and the Chiefs will get more from these guys.
