Arnold Schwarzenegger, 70, 'undergoes emergency open-heart surgery'

Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger has undergone emergency open-heart surgery, according to US reports.

The 70-year-old actor had the medical procedure on Thursday, according to TMZ.

Schwarzenegger was scheduled to have a catheter valve replacement and developed complications, reports said.

The procedure usually means the patient can avoid having open-heart surgery.

Doctors at Cedars-Sinai hospital in LA reportedly decided an emergency open-heart operation was needed and Schwarzenegger was in surgery for several hours.

The former governor of California is believed to be in a stable condition.

Just goes to show ya that no matter how physically fit you are, lived a life based around physical fitness, you can’t change the physical anatomy of the heart. The widomaker is coming for us all.

Schwarzenegger, 70, underwent a planned procedure Thursday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to replace a pulmonic valve that was originally replaced in 1997 for a congenital heart defect, Ketchell said in a statement.

“That 1997 replacement valve was never meant to be permanent, and has outlived its life expectancy, so he chose to replace it yesterday through a less-invasive catheter valve replacement,” Ketchell said.

ROID use and a congenital heart defect go hand in hand, right ? Surely didn't help matters.

Besides it is much easier to say congenital heart defect giving an excuse that was out of his control than admitting long term ROID use that caused this which is what I think is going on here IMHO.

They still need to bring in Jesse Ventura for questioning just in case there's any chance of foul play involved

I am writing a TV show about juicers in the 80s and considered doing a cycle for research. This article convinced me not to, given my family heart health history:
