I think this team is ready to get back on track in front of a loud crowd tomorrow.

I still think it's going to be a great game.

If the team can't get up for this game, man...we are in serious trouble.

Reerun_KC 02-10-2013 08:29 PM

Well I called OU by 5. Was off by one...

KU gets back on track, wins a dog shit fight by 7....

We are behind most of the game. FINALLY hit our FT's to close this one out...

Couldnt get up for the OSU game... Didnt show up for the TCU historical beatdown... And was totally disinterested in Norman...

They better otherwise this that flushing sound you hear is this season swirling the drain...

Your projections have been off all year

Chiefs Pantalones 02-10-2013 08:34 PM

@JayhawkTalk: Self: "We need our FANS on Monday. We've had a great year and a crappy week."

The best fans in the nation better bring the house down tomorrow. It's time to get this thing back on track. I'm tired of being affiliated with the rest of college basketball with our slumping.

This is true.

I am still holding, clinging onto a little bit of hope that tomorrow they'll rise up and show us something.

KSU and KU both tend to struggle on offense

Free throws could be huge

A good showing Monday could get this team back on track... They need either a blow out or a close game winning shot to boost the confidence again...

Right now they couldnt beat a High School JV girls team....

Especially if it required boxing out or perimeter defense...

You need not to try and turn my cautiously optimistic post into something negative.

And I've never had an issue with your issues with the outside shooting, Self, team issues, etc.

By showing me something - I mean showing up on both sides of the ball and execute..and for EJ to get out of his funk.

Haha! I could find many posts on this site from KU fans ready to sculpt a Doc Sadler statue because his teams "played close" in AFH.

"Just wait until he gets his players in there".

Those were memorable times my friends.

I, sir, was never one of them.

Never called him a great hire, but don't think he was a terrible one either.

KU's AdjO: 111.2
KSU's AdjO: 109.6

http://kenpom.com/index.php?s=RankAdjOE

A lot closer than it was a few weeks ago obviously, but KU's is still better.

Doc was years ahead of the trend in understanding how to play and beat KU which most B12 coaches have adapted over the last two years (slow and with as few possessions as possible). He never got himself an upset because of lack of talent, but it certainly wasn't for a lack of trying. Perhaps if he was lucky enough to face this particular version of the team, he would have gotten himself his own TCU victory.

Prison Bitch 02-10-2013 09:51 PM

KSU offense is putrid every time they step on the court and see us wearing KANSAS jerseys

What are you talking about? This is the best free throw shooting team since the 08 squad abd the 2nd best KU has had since 2001.

I got in on K-State when the line opened at opened at 9....it's down to 8. I don't expect we will win, but I don't see a double digit win for KU either.
Of course the way my luck runs this will be the night they decide to wake back up.

I don't think Doc was ahead of any curve. He played it like Wooly played it. And Wooly had an AFH victory in 2005. But as soon as Doc got his "moral loss/victory" by playing them close he was hailed as a genius."He's a better coach than Rick Barnes". (That was also a great talking point)

Weber has also gotten a ton of the same credit that Doc got in those early seasons at NUbb. "He's got them competing" and Weber has them "running that motion offense" lauding him as some great coach.

Right now Weber has this team about where Frank would have it imo. The real question will be in the next two seasons when all these seniors are gone. I think Weber will be a huge failure because he recruits like shit. Just like Doc. Doc was great for one season at UTEP with Billy G's team. He parlayed that into a deal with NUbb. And fell flat on his face. Never finished better than .500 in league.

Doc Sadler was a poor coach and worse recruiter.

He knew how to get his shitty teams playing competitive games against vastly superior teams which is more you can say for most of the shitty teams in the B12 over the last decade.

I don't know about worse than Doc Sadler, but Rick Barnes has to be one of the most underachieving coaches in the game considering the major talent he's had to work with in Texas. And this year we're seeing what a Texas team coached by him is like without the same talent level as usual.

If playing competetive games is your goal, then I guess I could agree. But McNeck at ISU played competetive games at ISU when he was there. And Bdzexcvelic at CU played several "competetive game" against teams when he was there.

Is Rick Barnes underachieving? He's a reached a FF. Been to the tournament every year. Recruited like crazy - which is part of the job - at a true "Football" first university and been successful. His teams have flamed out in the 2nd round, but that can be attributed to the nature of the tourney.

And this year, Barnes got his lower talent team to nearly sneak away a victory against Kansas, no? But he doesn't get the same talking point respect as Doc?

Hmmm.. He'll take 6 shots. Miss 5. Take a charge. But get 2 blocking fouls. Turn the ball over 3 times with zero assists. Grab 3 rebounds. Play like shit and the shirt tucking fan base will say he had a great line and we can't blame it on him.

His Dad will then criticize Frank Martin for killing his confidence after calling him a MF'ing pussy.

I'd hate hime a whole lot less if he shot 37% from 3. So therefore, I hate him.

He is, what he is. A safe player that rarely gives you more than you would expect. I think his D is way overrated, and offensively, he was at his best when playing alongside Pullen. Not a huge fan, but we really don't have anyone who can replace him yet - I'm looking RIGHT AT YOU, Marcus Foster!

I almost hate watching Spradling play as much as Elijah Johnson has lately.
