It's just a gut feeling

FD 02-13-2018 12:53 PM

Nope.

Buehler445 02-13-2018 12:55 PM

I saw that sports center piece on Him and thought the same thing. Might not be terrible in a QB 2 role. As long as Mahomes doesn’t get hurt. Ever.

Pablo 02-13-2018 12:55 PM

They can pay him in Seroquel and MD 20/20 to launder Pat's jocks. Solid move.

loochy 02-13-2018 12:56 PM

Typically, with a super young QB, don't you want a vet as backup to help with learning?

Chiefs316 02-13-2018 01:01 PM

Dude had no work ethic in Cleveland, how the hell would he do here trying to learn Andy’s system well enough to step in? No thanks.

Pitt Gorilla 02-13-2018 01:01 PM

Yeah, no.

ChiliConCarnage 02-13-2018 01:03 PM

Yeah, but would you give up Justin Houston and a 2nd to get him?

CaliforniaChief 02-13-2018 01:03 PM

Because universally people think Andy Reid and quarterbacks.

If Reid's okay with signing off on Tyreek Hill in a post-Greg Hardy NFL and paid beaucoup bucks to Mike Vick after Bad Newz Kennels, then I don't think it's a stretch for him to bring in a relatively benign Johnny Manziel.

Ragged Robin 02-13-2018 01:07 PM

No need , he's cheap off the street right now. Win, Win.

We won't do it because of the media circus that would come with it, but TBH I would love this and Andy is the coach to do it.

We won’t do it because he sucks. Kaepernick is the one who doesn’t get hired because of the media circus.

tk13 02-13-2018 01:35 PM

Probably the one guy we'd sign that would take away all the attention from Mahomes. It'd be the reverse of this year. Every time Mahomes struggled the storyline would be "Is it time for Manziel?"

I listened to his bullshit excuses on the radio this morning. His NFL career is done. if was serious...he would have tried to play in Canada...and the samm thing goes for Tim Tebow.

tyton75 02-13-2018 01:42 PM

If we paid him Tyler Bray money and cut Tyler Bray... I'm ok with it.. let him run a halfback pass gimmick occasionally or something

JFC, give it a rest.

Geno was drafted to a shit team and he busted, like thousands of other college prospects.

Luckily for Alex Smith (due to his draft status), Jim Harbaugh came in and taught him how to disguise his weaknesses... or his fate would have been the same thing.

He's got rare talent. He went to Cleveland and handled himself wrong , basically new it was a death trap and said **** it.Sometimes people respond when given a second chance. We've got the coach and front office to make him succeed if he wants to.

Let him walk on and if he's here two years without a problem he's worth draft picks.

Someone who says **** it is the last person you want on your team in the NFL. The NFL is an extreme grind where injury and negative plays test your mettle every week. I would rather have a player with less talent that never stops than an elite guy who gives up the first time something goes wrong.

He quit, how doesn't matter.

Manziel was an outstanding college player but the last player you want on an NFL roster is someone who quits.

I hear what you're saying... yeah the potential is intriguing, and sometimes people do change

But think of the fix we'd be in if he walked on, stood tall, toed the line and earned the #2 spot... only to relapse at the worst possible time like in the middle of the season, or the start of the next season

Its just hard to trust a guy like him who has never had to really work for anything in his life

Bring back Chase Daniel

JohnnyHammersticks 02-13-2018 02:42 PM

I remember him running for about 6000 yards against us one game a couple years ago. I was driving back to Colorado from visiting family in Missouri and it was so frustrating to listen to on the radio. I couldn't believe nobody on our defense could stop that moron.

gonefishin53 02-13-2018 03:24 PM

For Mahomes' backup, AR needs someone who knows his offense and has NFL game experience like Chase Daniel. If Manziel and Bray are competing for 3rd QB, I don't think the media would make much of a deal about it. I doubt Manziel would consider competing for Chiefs 3rd QB. I think he's still an arrogant a**hole.

jaa1025 02-13-2018 03:26 PM

If Mahomes was a vet then I'd be ok with it but he's a young impressionable QB and the last person I'd want him to befriend is Manziel. I don't want him on the team. He needs a veteran back up and draft a project 3rd QB.

Instagram is a great way to judge someone's work ethic, character, etc. Positively or negatively.

I assume you get most of your news and continuing education from Instagram, Facebook, E!, TMZ, and Bravo.

I don’t want that media circus either. I want some boring game manager vet as our backup. I want our backup to be an irrelevant nobody who creates zero distractions and no hope of an alternative to Mahomes. Burn the boats.

I want them to. Patty Cakes will be fine, but no guarantee he stays healthy, and this place frankly needs the burst. :)

Indian Chief 02-13-2018 04:37 PM

I know people hate Smith but he was a good guy for Mahomes to be around and learn from. Manziel is the exact opposite. I don't want him anywhere near Mahomes.

If anything, you want someone that will push Mahomes to work harder and be better.

Frosty 02-13-2018 06:20 PM

Cleveland traded up right in front of the Chiefs to take Brady Quinn. He eventually ended up being a (shitty) back up for the Chiefs.

Cleveland traded up right in front of the Chiefs to take Manziel, too. Maybe history repeats itself and Manziel becomes a (shitty) back up for the Chiefs..

I hope not though. I think Mahomes needs a veteran QB that's been around for awhile as his back up.

All In 02-13-2018 07:15 PM

Please heck no. Even if he finally got his act together, he is not a good QB.

Kiimo 02-13-2018 07:16 PM

Johnny had the talent to be a very good QB, don't kid yourself.

Pablo 02-13-2018 07:32 PM

Johnny is the sort of guy that could even **** up jerking off hogs. You'd leave him with your best boar and a jizz jug; and you'd come back to a hog OD'ed on meth, an empty jug and Manziel with a milk mustache.

A big ****ing distraction angling for any opportunity to unseat our Golden Boy

Kaep is DONE in the NFL... he has made his priorities abundantly clear, and playing football is way down his list

Frisco offered him a competitive contract, but he chose to cry like a typical SJW about having to earn his keep and quit on them... no one will touch him now, he is radioactive, mother **** that guy and his pig socks

And while that's no great sin in considering his clinical issue, are you going to pay that hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to be a backup on your team?
