Cain sitting today. I think Yost needs to put Orlando #3. Right now he's behind slow ass Morales which could keep him from getting that extra base.

Merrifield - 2B Gordon - LF Cain - CF Hosmer - 1B Perez - C Morales - DH (assuming he continues to hit) Eibner/Orlando - RF (like Eibner's power potential a bit more) Cuthbert - 3B Escobar - SS I think that would be pretty productive, and in putting Merrifield, Gordon, and Cain in front of Hosmer, you hopefully generate a lot of RBI chances for your best hitter. |
Gordon was batting .211
I'm good with Eibner in LF |

I'll take the guy who has a .281/.359/.450 slash line over the past five years, over 2800 at-bats over a rookie who has 30, sorry. Despite the slow start, I don't believe Alex Gordon is just DONE. Maybe he is, but it seems pretty unlikely to me. I like Eibner and think he is potentially a better long-term option in RF than Orlando, but Alex Gordon is Alex Gordon until proven otherwise (over more than 150 at-bats (in which he still posted a .650 OPS despite "sucking" in his own words). |
