Notice how Bowe catches it in stride downfield? That's a sure sign that it wasn't meant for him.

Is there any way we could see Bowe's entire route on that play? It would be interesting if he took matters into his own hands and leapt in front of Dexter's route. This likely didn't happen, but it would be interesting to look at nonetheless.

God, it's amazing just how underthrown Dex was on that play, two receivers shouldn't end up that close to each other on the field.

Hammock Parties 11-02-2012 01:48 PM

OP updated with the following.

Quote:

Matt Cassel is 19-28 in his 47 career games with the Chiefs.

He is 15-8 in games where we ran the ball more than we threw it.
Quote:

As a Chief, in games where Cassel's team rushes for less than 135 yards he is 5-20.
Quote:

Rivers, P. Manning, Roethlisberger, E. Manning, Romo, Schaub, Flacco, Stafford, Ryan, Brees

Cassel's record against this group: 4-16 (.200).

At the very basic level of Pioli's performance, he should be skewered for
1. Failing so miserably in his evaluation of the most critical position on the field
2. Sticking withi said failure for nearly an entire season or more.

To me, that's why he should be fired. His first move was such a collossal failure he doesn't deserve to stick around. It wasn't as if Cassel was a very your pup and was having growing pains of an average young QB. Cassel has been so atrocious, with zero upside and was Evident two years ago.

If the chiefs are in a position to draft a franchise QB, in no way do I want Pioli in the evaluation room of the qb. If he can't get it right with a guy he's seen everyday in practice on NE there's no way he can get it right with a pro prospect from college.

Not to mention the 100 other reasons he should be fired.

scho63 11-13-2012 10:39 AM

Cassel spent his entire Trojan career as a backup behind Heisman Trophy winners Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. Cassel was the backup for Palmer during his Heisman-winning 2002 season. In the fall, Cassel lost the battle for the starting position to the previous third-string quarterback in Leinart. As a result of Leinart's success, Cassel spent time at tight end and wide receiver in 2003, and some special teams that year. He started at H-back against California in 2001 as well, making his lone collegiate start at that position. During his four seasons there, Cassel completed 19 of 33 passes for 192 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception

This is the guy Scott Pioli bet the future of the Chiefs on.......this alone is enough for a firing yet Clark Hunt is a DOLT for letting him do it!!! Two idiots.

Quote:

Matt Cassel is 19-29 in his 48 career games with the Chiefs.

He is 15-9 in games where we ran the ball more than we threw it.
Quote:

A short list of quarterbacks Gus Cassel has faced throughout his career that might be considered "elite," or "definitely not Cassel in any way":

Rivers, P. Manning, Roethlisberger, E. Manning, Romo, Schaub, Flacco, Stafford, Ryan, Brees

Cassel's record against this group: 4-17 (.190).

Gus Cassel's Record Against Elite Quarterbacks, By Year:

2012: 1-5
2011: 1-2
2010: 1-3
2009: 1-4
2008: 0-3
In a week or two I will be able to update stats against winning teams and playoff teams as that stuff gets sorted out.
