I'm glad the BCS win 5 years ago is KU's selling point to all those 2* recruits they get.

HolyHandgernade 04-30-2012 04:01 PM

I'm looking through "that schedule":

KU - 76
NU - 39

ROFL

Yeah one of the last few conference wins for KU the last 5 years.

Oh btw 2-38 the last 40 years vs Nebraska. Not bad.

But, you said, "any team". Are you not "any team". If "any team" could have won with that schedule, why didn't your "any team" at least have a better showing?

We're not even considered a "football school".

While KU was playing the Toledos of the world Nebraskas non-con schedule that year featured USC. If it weren't for KU's cupcake schedule that year they wouldn't have made a BCS game. We all know that.

We know KU isn't a football school. That's why no conference wants them.

There actually is debate about that. Notre Dame has "religious/ethical" issues with the B!G academic format and they must surrender all 3rd Tier rights to the conference network. If Notre Dame has decided conference affiliation makes more financial sense to them, they have more flexibility in the Big XII concerning those rights.

While I agree ND has the look and feel of B!G, that may not be the overriding factor. Throw in the relationship between Texas and Notre Dame, and saying "there's not much debate about that" isn't very objective.

I absolutely agree that Notre Dame isn't a slam dunk to the B1G, but the competition is from the ACC, not the Big 12.

Notre Dame is an elite university and its alums are extremely arrogant. There is literally zero chance they are going to join a conference and become academic chums with the likes of Texas Tech, West Virginia, and the Oklahoma schools, not to mention lose some traditional football rivalries.

B1G makes the most sense, but I could see a scenario where Notre Dame spurns them for the ACC to pair up with schools like Duke, UNC, Boston College, and Georgia Tech if they feel Delaney and company are trying to force them to join.

I'm confused. Why would you bring up non con? It wasn't like you didn't have the opportunity to be that "any team" that year. We actually got to see them play each other. Perhaps you meant "any team" could have beat the Huskers that year? Is that what you meant?

ACC has to get through their own struggle right now. The ACC can't get a contract to put itself in competition with the other four. So, if the ACC comes apart, Notre Dame isn't going to join that. If the ACC stays together, it likely means the new format is friendly towards an independent Notre Dame. I don't think the ACC is a serious home for ND, despite the ACC's well deserved academic reputation.

Seems to me, you are the one enjoying living in the past when it suits your needs.

Its like I'm locked in a room with a 3rd grader, you even lead with the "I know you are but what am I" debating coup de tat. I've never encountered such a slippery idiot in my unfortunate encounters on the internet in all my life. Congrats on that.

We know that's a lie, since they won't play Mizzou unless their conference tells them too.
