NFL Records the Chiefs are chasing in Week 4

Quote:

Kansas City Chiefs can make some NFL history in Week 4

The KC Chiefs 3-0 start is so unusual that they can make a little history with another victory in Week 4 against the New York Giants.

Chiefs can tie NFL record for best start to a season after a 14-loss season

Right now, the Chiefs are one of five teams in NFL history to start 3-0 after at least 14 losses the previous season. The 1980 Detroit Lions hold the NFL record with four straight wins to start the season after losing that many games the year before. The Chiefs can tie the Lions for the NFL record with a win on Sunday against New York.

The other 14-loss-to-3-0-start teams are the 2002 Carolina Panthers, 2001 San Diego Chargers and 1980 San Francisco 49ers. Only the Lions ended the season with a winning record.

Chiefs can tie NFL record of turnover-free football to start a season

The Chiefs have yet to turn the football over. An impressive feat through three games. The only other NFL team in NFL history to start a season with four consecutive games of turnover-free ball is the 1995 St. Louis Rams.

I can't tell you how insane that stat is after last season. Just crazy.

As the end of the article said, it really is crazy. The way we've started this season is incredible. Going 4 and oh would make it that more incredible too.

In!

BlackHelicopters 09-25-2013 07:31 AM

In for ball security.

Rasputin 09-25-2013 07:33 AM

So are they not going play or let Kniles Davis get his mitts on a ball?

Pasta Little Brioni 09-25-2013 07:54 AM

He had a few decent runs last week tat

You can't play scared- it would be great to break these records but all I care about is a WIN!!!

The % of teams that start the season 3-0 make the playoffs around 75% of the time. When you go to 4-0 that goes to around 80%. This is a big week.

yes he did and he's done this during all three games so far. I'm impressed with his power. he's never been a power runner, but he's laying lumber now.

I envision a turnover for Smith against the Giants.

Dude....the way that our oline was getting trashed by the Eagles when they were only rushing 3.....is a problem. The Giants defensive line is better than the Eagles.

Exactly like when they were saying Mike Vick has thrown x amount of passes without an interception....... :hmmm: you knew it was coming. Kiss of death.

I hope people stop talking about turnovers- its bad karma.

Turnover streak will end at some point. I think it's a safe assumption it will be this weekend. It's down to odds at this point. We've been extremely fortunate so far.

('95 rams ended 7-9.)
