On my third listen of this album. It lives up to the hype. Damn.

That's probably my favorite track on the album. The whole thing bumps, though.

I just texted a fellow rap fan friend about this. He's pretty turned off by misogynism and shit, so I was worried he wouldn't make it through the first track to listen to the whole thing. The production on this album is sick (El-P) and right up my alley with its sometime weirdness. The real thing I like, though, is that almost every song has a sort of "shift" in it where it goes to the next level both with the vocals and the production.

"Untitled" at about 3:31 is a great example of this:

And an extended Lord of the Flies allusion in "Willie Burke Sherwood" elevates the shit out of this album.

I'm actually getting around to listening to the new Beach House album now. I wish there weren't any vocals. Instrumentals are nice, though.

Pennywise with their new singer:

The old singer (Jim Lindberg) with his new band (The Black Pacific):

I like Jim Lindberg with his new band better than Pennywise with their new singer. Both seem to have Green Day sound check or influence.

These sound like tunes you'd find in a Tarantino flick. Good stuff.

El-P's new album, Cancer for Cure, is pretty nice. Check out this track, featuring Mr. Mother****ing eXquire and Danny Brown.
