Well, in all fairness Chagrin mentioned that song on the Cadillac commercial that he thinks sucks. :( I think that was a great tune.

Now that I checked, I only own Downward Is Heavenward. That album, btw, is one of the best mixed and produced music album ever, IMO. I checked Amazon and they do have You'd Prefer An Astronaut for download. I will be d/l that tonight when I get home.

Oh, I used to listen to that album, too. One of my bandmates (several years ago) had that album. We even covered the song "Stars". Love that album. Still prefer Downward Is Heavenward, though.'

BTW, I don't care that much for Itunes. I love Amazon's service. They just started it a few months ago. They didn't have a very large selection early on. However, they have really increased their selection over the past few months.

You want to hear a classic strat sound Karate def has a clean strat sound with wah's for solo's. I listen to pinback too. I don't know what to classify pinbac. Kind of funk pop.

Yeah, a platinum selling album like Badmotorfinger is so effing obscure. ;)
Unless, you're asking us to guess on some cover version . . .

This is a great thread idea that's getting no love. So, I'll pimp something that I expect exactly zero people to like.

I discovered this band called Tenochtitlan. They're from Russia, and the write songs about the ancient Aztec, Mayan, and Inca civilizations. The lyrics are in Russian and broken Mayan and Aztec. The song titles are mostly in Aztec.

They play a sort of atmospheric/ambient tranquil jungle music that really evokes South America, and they mix that with elements of doom metal. It's weird fun stuff that's worth a listen, I guess...

...especially since you can download both of their albums, "Chac Och-Ut," and "Epoch of the Five Suns" for free(!) @ http://www.realmusic.ru/albums/3568/ and http://www.realmusic.ru/albums/3353/

I like to listen to new and very different music... But man, I can't see how anybody could listen to this and actually enjoy it. I'm sure not criticizing your music taste -- to each his own. I wouldn't mind trying to understand what about this does anything for you though.

Here's what I've been listening to lately... A Gypsy Punk band named Gogol Bordello. They put on a hell of a show...

It's a strange sort of atmosphere. I never listen to this band apart from the occasional time a song of their comes up on shuffle mode. They're sort of fun in short, occasional bursts. Though, you have to enjoy doom metal in the first place to find dense, atmospheric music to be "fun" as I have described it.
