I could be wrong about this, but if I remember correctly, they're aren't any books (well, at least not until "Raylen" a few weeks ago). I think it's all based on a single short story, "Fire in the Hole".

Direckshun 02-22-2012 11:15 PM

I get anxiety the two times they've featured that guy tied to the bed.

That's horrifying.

Pitt Gorilla 02-23-2012 12:00 AM

I just watched the 2/14 show and thought it was great. I don't see it as filler at all.

it would be worse if they have the tied up guy turned over with his face down on the mattress.

Watch out for Limehouse....that man with a meat clever will screw you up....or get some gumbo ready (he was Bubba from Forest Gump)

There's a brand new one out titled "Raylan". Probably a good time to find out if you like them or not. I dig it.

I really hope Gugino's Karen Sisco shows up some more this season.

Good Episode last night. The buildup between Quarles and Crowder/Githens is getting pretty high. Need some action pretty soon though.

Why? I just enjoy savoring the dialogue. iMO the best on TV.

Deberg_1990 02-29-2012 09:30 PM

So I'm guessing the guy Quaryles has tied up on the bed was a male escort and he killed him? Judging by some spoken dialogue from Raylan and Duffy.

I also love how they keep getting solid mileage out of the fact Raylans coworkers Tim and Rachael don't really like him much. Great stuff

Heh. I liked how all the hip young hot crowd was in watching a throwback bluegrass band. Those people looked like they belonged in P&L, but I digress.

A great set up show. Quarles looks to be losing his shit quickly, Wynn looks like he's not entirely ready to play second hand man, Winnona looks hot as hell, and Raylan looks just plain mad. Looking forward for what's to come.

Chiefnj2 03-07-2012 07:40 AM

Foreshadowing - when the brother asked Quarles "Does that thing ever jam on you?"

Not sure if anyone is reading the books Justified is based off of, but there is a great deal on the first three in e-book form. $4.99.

Great episode. They are really turning Quaryles into a huge creep. What was that drug he took in his car? Then he was listening to what sounded like a sermon while blowing off his wifes call?

Classic scene between Duffy and raylan while "Painting the Room"

and oh yea, it was nice to see Tim help Raylan out when he needed it the most. "I took you to the bottom floor"

heh, they could almost do a Spinoff show about Tim and Rachael.

That drug had to be Oxy as that is the drug that he is having them push in that area. I thought after he took the Oxy and was listening to the radio there was a chance he was going to off himself.

Loved the line about Duffy riding Raylan like a pony. I laughed out loud at that. Great heat between those two.

The Lexington cop's reaction to Raylan's line about the next bullet coming faster was pretty damn funny too.

If they ever get rid of Art, I will boycott. He is perfect with Raylen and the scenes with them together are prefect. Ready for the sheriff to be killed.

Chiefnj2 03-14-2012 05:44 AM

I did not think Raylan was going to keep his cool when Limehouse offered to tell stories about his momma.

That scene reminded me of Seth Bulluck (Olyphant's character in Deadwood). Bulluck was always very quiet and measure but you just knew there was a lot simmering underneath at all times. Raylan is different in that he does let himself go nuts.

Bowser 03-17-2012 01:21 PM

I know it would wreck the storyline, but couldn't Raylan arrest Quarrles on the spot for threatening his life?

And I like how this year basically everyone, save Raylan and the Marshalls, are bad guys.

KevB 03-18-2012 01:29 AM

Just got caught up on the last two episodes. This is just a great show. The way they turn two guys like Tanner and Errol(sp?) from thugs about to shoot one another to men with some honor (taking care of Tanner's momma) is impressive. Somehow, it's believable.

Not sure what Raylan was thinking telling Wyatt he had the gun and then hiding it in his room. Regardless how well he thinks it's hidden, Raylen seems to be more savvy than that. Oh well, it's the dialogue that keeps me coming back more than anything else. Whether it's Raylan, Art, Boyd, Quarles, etc., every scene has quality writing and actors that pull it off.

KcMizzou 03-20-2012 09:04 PM

Quarrles is completely off the rails now. This will not end well. (esp for his latest "rent boy")

Did he? I wasn't paying close enough attention to see where Raylan was staring. I just kept waiting for the punchout and/or shootout to happen.

And Raylan's new girl is fine. Damn. (her name is Jenn Lyon, btw)

No doubt. Great stuff. If anything, this season has been overplotted. Id like to see more of Limehouse, Tim, Rachael and Art. They obviously didn't have room for Winona anymore. Theres a ton of great characters in this thing. I suspect we will see Quarlyes boss ans the Feds again soon.

Some speculation on the nets on who shot the Officer at the end since they never actually showed it to you.

Also, will Quaryles sleeve gun jam during the inevitable showdown with Raylan?

I also thought it was kind of stupid for Boyd to leave Quarlyes guarded so lightly. Understaffed obviously. : )

KcMizzou 04-04-2012 04:43 PM

And I did not see the Johnny and Arlo angles coming.

keg in kc 04-12-2012 09:52 AM

One of the notable and I think unique things about Justified is how they wrap up everything in the finale. Not that I don't like cliffhangers (I do...), but I don't really get that sense of resolution from anything else that I watch.

They did wrap,it up, but they also do a nice job of keeping some threads dangling which lead into the next season.

Johnny trying to take control over Boyd.
Arlo going to jail
I'll bet Dickie and Limehouse come back in some capacity
Natalie zea probably comes back for a few episode with the baby
I really hope Carla Gugino returns as Sisco

The funniest part about that scene was as Quarles was reaching for his arm, Raylan stepped back and give him a look that said, "no, you can't have your arm back." It's the subtle stuff like that which makes the show amazing.

The biggest message for me at the end of the show was that Arlo considered Boyd more of a son than Raylan, thus falling on the sword for him to get him out of jail. As much as Raylan dislikes his father, you could tell that affected him.

Wow! I went from Deadwood right into Justified and Timothy Olyphant has become one of my fav actors. I always liked his role in "The Girl Next Door" and "Go"... but these 2 series he takes the effing cake. I swear he is the next Clint Eastwood.
I have been playing episode after episode and I cannot stop. I will finish season 3 tonight, can't wait! I'm glad they got a season 4.

So... a bump for best show on TV.

If it was last year has to be Walter Goggins, Timothy Olyphant, Jeremy Davies (Dickie Bennet - he actually won) or Margo Martindale (Mags) winner as well.

Dr. Gigglepants 12-20-2012 11:33 AM

Spend the time to catch up, it was worth it for me. Can't wait for the new season. I also watched the entire series of The Shield since Justified and Breaking Bad went on break earlier this year. Walton Goggins was great as Shane, also great as Boyd in justified.
