Most of you guys have seen this but I thought it would be nice to have when you make your mock drafts and propose trades.

Is this even valid anymore with the new rookie scale? I would have to say no. The second pick last year was certainly worth more. Maybe this year it will play closer to that.

I think the $$$ value of the top 5-10 picks made them less DESIRABLE (and thus worth less in trade value) under the old CBA.

The new rookie payscale makes these picks much more valuable, IMO.

This chart was created in '89 by Jimmy Johnson to asses the value of picks, long before the rookie contracts became so ridiculous.

If anything, the new CBA makes that chart relevant again.

I actually opened this thread hoping that it was a link to some formula that showed the value of each position using some sort of mathematical formula to weigh each position.

Has anyone ever come up with something like that?

Weren't all the trades in the top 10-15 or so last year going at a value below this chart? Well, except for the RG3 trade...

The two most notable ones that come to my mind are (after the Griffin/Redskins deal):

The Falcons move up for Julio Jones.

The Chargers move up for Eric Weddle.

Last year there were tons of trades. After RG3 picks 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 14, 15 were all traded.
