Microsoft Word

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anybody here could help me out with word.

Im trying to print out a document and it contains profanity. Apparently, microsoft word is refusing me to print the document.

The question is, why?

And, how can I print out a document in word that has profanity in it?

*Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure it's Word that is causing the issue? When you print out the document does everything but the profanity print or is it the whole document? Are you at work or at home?

Im thinking it is.

When I printed out other stuff it worked.

But, when I when to print out my document, it automatically crossed out any profane words and just didnt print.

What version of Word are you using?

So to make sure I understand: when you write up the document it shows the profanity then you click print, the document doesn't print and all profanity is lined out on the original document?

mdchiefsfan 01-06-2013 08:17 AM

Have you tried turning off the auto proofreader?

Try to do a spelling and grammar check and see if the profane words appear as an issue to the document. If they do, click add to dictionary and see if that works. Give me a few and I'll see what I can find in case that doesn't work.

None of the profane words appeared on the spelling and grammar check.

I've never heard of that as a feature in Word. My guess is there's some other software doing it.

mdchiefsfan 01-06-2013 08:35 AM

Ok I have 2007 Microsoft Word so I don't know what yours looks like but do you know how to go into the settings of Microsoft Word?

Yea I just looked through all the settings in Microsoft Word 2007 and found nothing in regards to profanity.

Not exacttly sure.

File then options?

mdchiefsfan 01-06-2013 08:39 AM

Try copying and pasting your document to Notepad and see if that will print.

Okay. I copied it and pasted it into another word window, and it printed it out. So it probably not a profanity issue. My bad.

2007 has this button in the top left

http://www.nhsdesigns.com/images/bas...007_button.jpg

If you do too click that, then at the bottom there should be a tab that says Word Options. That will take you to proofreading setting and such. If there is anything with Word 2010 that filters profanity it will be in there.

On 2007 there is a tab for 'Page Layout'. Select that option and there should be a section called 'Page Setup' In this section there is a choice for Margins, Orientation, Size, Columns, Breaks, Line Numbers, and Hyphenation. Select Line Numbers and click Continuous.

Edit: you meant pages, sorry. 1 sec

Ok As opposed to selecting 'Page Setup' in the toolbar select 'Insert'. There is a section in the toolbar that says 'Header & Footer'. Click on 'Page Number' and choose if you want it at the top or bottom.

Wow, crazy. First time I've heard this.

Easy fix. Hit Control F. Locate all the curse words and replace with "Pioli"
