Alien 5

It's a go.

Not a Blomkamp fan, so mixed feelings.

Dude is perfect for this.

Set it in an alternate universe where Hicks survived and Ripley's ship didn't crash on a prison planet and DO IT.

According to The Wrap, the untitled Blomkamp movie will be produced by Scott and take place after the events of Prometheus 2.

Easy 6 02-18-2015 07:48 PM

See, I'm just not a fan of this thing where Ridley Scott is doing a new Prometheus right around the same time that this guy is doing a new Alien.

Hollywood is eating itself, there are so few new ideas in that town anymore that they're now releasing two different movies, from two different directors, of the same franchise... jeeez, what a joke.

And to further the disdain, I friggin hated Blomkamps District 9... this is a terrible idea. Hollywood is truly out of ideas... "lets just do 2-3-4-5! different versions of the same franchise from different directors".

You're in the minority. It's one of the best reviewed science fiction films of the last 20 years.

Fish 02-18-2015 07:56 PM

I thought District 9 was awesome.

Dont care, if he wanted to make a movie about apartheid... he should've made a movie about apartheid and left the aliens out of it.

And thats just the icing on the cake, its simply not good alien movie... literally just got finished watching it for the second or third time and it still sucks.

Siskel and Ebert and their ilk hype a lot of movies that just plain suck.

Pretty much everyone likes it except you.

I hate that shit is edited on cable. I get it for ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS. But cable? Come on.

And I'm 100% fine with that, what a bunch of maroons everyone else is.

Yes here we are Earthlings, mighty aliens in giant ships far above anything you can replicate, we covered vast distances to get here.

Yet now that we're here... we mark our territory by pissing, just like animals. We make crude pictograms in street graffitti style in "ghetto alleys" that say "me kill 3 humans, watch out for me" blah blah blah.

That movie sucks baows.

DaveNull 02-18-2015 08:50 PM

District 9 was good, but Elysium was just okay. All You Need is Kill was better if you ask me.

There's a good chance that Blomkamp could end up being the next M Night Shamalan.

ThaVirus 02-18-2015 09:01 PM

Are we going to act like that shit stain they call Alien: Resurrection didn't happen?

DaveNull 02-18-2015 09:02 PM

Never heard of it.

keg in kc 02-18-2015 09:02 PM

I didn't hate District 9 but I wasn't a fan. Expected something amazing after the early reviews and it just wasn't.
