yea, that was kinda out of place but probably isnt in the movie. Just a marketing tool.

Because there was no Jay-Z music when Jackie Robinson played baseball.

Yeah...I wouldn't worry about that. The guys cutting the trailers have little or nothing to do with the movie itself.

Can't remember the name.
Had Mykelti Williamson (Josh Gibson), Delroy Lindo (Satchel Paige), and Blair Underwood (Jackie Robinson), and was more about their race to be the first. I can't think of the guy who played Branch Rickey (he's been in a million movies), but he was good, too.

@WhitlockJason: 42 (Jackie Robinson movie) is an ABC after-school special with racial slurs. No depth, poorly acted. Movie is strictly for kids.

That sucks, he has a pretty good feel for good cinema.

It got a 74% overall on RT. Whitlock seems to hate alot of things or get pissed off it seems. I heard the move was under 90 minutes but mostly everyone from last night loved it. I'll still see it even though it looked based on commercials more of a rent

42 has a running time of 128 minutes.

Whitlock's tweet is almost a pure summation of the couple of reviews I saw.

The main complaint was that the movie is about good white folk and bad white folk hashing it out while JR stands by spectating and being beatific. IIRC most all made allusions to after school special or Lifetime movie vibe.

From what I understand its a movie about how racist white people were back then.

Jarrod Dyson of the Royals said he wished the movie would have had more about Jackie Robinson's life, and they he understood the message of the movie.
And that the movie could had been better.

Whitlock wanted it to be a Gritty Hard look at Jackie Robinson with his buddy Stinger and how they fought racism slinging WMD's in the inner city.

Cain and Dyson can cover some ground my goodness.

Wifey and I just saw it and we loved it. I don't know what Whitlock was smoking. Great movie.

I finally got to see it and thought it was good. Christopher Meloni (Elliot Stabler from Law and Order SVU) did one hell of a job.

I finally saw it. It was very good. Could have been a little better in some character development and writing areas, but it was very much worth the watch.

I thought Ford did a great job. I thought WTF when I saw the role he was playing, but he did very well.

Solid movie but could've used more, esp more about his life. It's a decent rent but nothing you haven't seen before. Solid acting but could've been better...

I thought this was a great movie. Tremendous performance by Harrison Ford.
