The Blacklist
The one new show I have been looking forward to. Premieres tomorrow night. Anyone else planning to watch/follow?
|
Yes
|
I will be checking it out.
|
Yeah, DVR is set. I kinda expect to be disappointed, though.
|
It's going to be reeruned, and i like James Spader. "You can't trust me, I'm a criminal. Muahahahahahah!"
|
Silence Of the Lambs, the Series.
|
Ended up liking a lot more than I thought I would
|
I liked it...interesting twist at the end. There is more there than meets the eye, hopefully the show will last enough to flesh some of it out.
|
Not reading anyone else's comments yet but what the ****!?
Coast Guard? Navy? Army? No one can catch a rubber boat with a 50 HP Merc? LMAO |
Okay, kind of like a free network version of Homeland.
|
It was cool. I'll watch again. I enjoyed Hostages more though. Kinda like that Dylan McDermot guy as an actor.

Is it his daughter he picked to make famous?
|
Quote:
But it's NBC, so the shocker would be that it's not his daughter. |
I like that they left a lot of things open-ended. The scar on her hand. Who her father (and mother) was. How she's connected to Spader's character. Who or what her husband is. They've given reasons to tune in next week. The trick is going to be whether or not they have satisfying answers to all the questions.
I thought it was a solid start, though. |
Spader chewing the scenery was by far the best thing about it for me.
If Keen truly is his daughter, they need to make that obvious reveal quickly, and let the show become a father/daughter spy-team adventure. Otherwise, if you drag it out and then reveal the obvious, I think a lot of people are gonna walk. Hopefully, though, there's a better twist involved. |
Quote:
The key for me is not the true nature of the relationship but whether or not the producers allow Spader to mess with them. If he knows EVERYTHING that's suppose to happen every single week, that will tire quickly, IMO. |

It wouldn't make sense for him to know everything that's supposed to happen every week while he's in FBI custody. I think (hope) it'll be more like the scene towards the end of the episode where he's helping them put pieces together. Hopefully he doesn't conveniently escape every week so he has time to talk to his contacts.
|
It'll be interesting to see how the show feels next week.
Joe Carnahan directed the pilot. The practice of big name Hollywood directors hired for pilots is becoming commonplace. |
The weird thing to me is that they do that (Carnahan directing last night, Johnson directing last week's BB, etc) but don't seem to go out of their way to advertise it.
Although I think they're doing it at least in part to try and win Emmy's. Those voters love it when 'real' directors slum on television. |

Show was okay, but some stupid stuff makes it less than good. I'll continue watching with the hope that it gets better. |
DVR screwed up and I only got to where they discover the girl has the bomb strapped to her. But, well done TV. I'll watch again next week.

Wow, NBC may finally have must watch TV again.
|
The writing was really uneven, but James Spader is a bad mother****er.
Found myself comparing it to Hannibal, which is vastly superior. |
Watched it last night and really liked it. Sure there were some things that seemed to not add up or seemed hokey but for the most part it is a fun watch that kept my interest. Spader is just a great actor and I love him already in this role.
|
I'm not a big fan of having a bad guy that is all-knowing and all-powerful so I'm hoping this doesn't go down that road. If it goes to more of a Silence of the Lamb psychological bent (getting into the mindset of criminals), it would be more sustainable.
|
We watched it tonight. Good first episode. Nice little twist at the end. I'll keep watching.
|
Good second episode.
|
Jane Alexander is old
|
So is Isabella Rossellini.

|
Pretty good episode. Hope the ratings were good. 16 million watched the first episode, will be interesting to see how many of them came back for more.
|
I found it unwatchable.
I just don't care much for the characters. |

I liked it, and love Spader, but by episode 2 the whole constant locked down in the retractable cube, absolute senseless measures to hammer the point he can't be trusted and is so notorious that the USA would rather lock him up instead of tap him for his Intel is wearing thin.
Also, like finding out the next target is probably the wealthy widow of the charitable foundation is the target. What do they do? Send people close to her to provide security- no they leave and have to get to her from a considerable distance to the featured characters can be the 1st on the scene even though they are trying to prevent her murder and the clock is ticking. Not to mention, if Spader's intention was to have her die anyway, then let her die, but I guess you either only catch the guy but he kills her, yet no one is the wiser that she's secretly the sex trafficer in disguise? Though convenient that the government was able to only just after she died link her bank account to tie her in as part of the slave trade cartel, and with her death, theirs a good possibility that this hidden double life doesn't even come to light, as it sheds question on this secret assassin and where the government is getting new Intel from in the case files- possibly tipping their hand of Spader's new role of informant. |
Wow! Maybe The Blacklist picked the wrong week to have the 'bad guys' attack an SUV on motorcycles and bash out it's windows with a helmet.
;) |

I thought that, either that or:
Spoiler!

This is a good show.

Awesome! I don't even really mind that Spader completely carries the show.
I could probably just sit and listen to him talk for an hour and want more of that. |
NBC has a hit that isnt a reality show. well damn it! lol Good show.
|
I'll keep watching. Spader is fantastic.
|
Another good ep. This has quickly become one of my favorite shows.

James Spader is great at playing creepy |
Spader kicked ass lastnight. That was pretty bad ass. You're a monster, yes i am. How do you live with yourself? By saving you!
Bad ass. |
Also, did a 3.0 at 10pm, thats not bad at all. Won the hour obviously and it wasnt really close to the next shows.
|
Starting to get into the broader storyline now.
shorter story for each episode long story lurking in the background throughout pretty decent formula for success Spader is awesome not sure about the main female character yet |

I'm hooked. Probably the best new series this year.
|
Last night's felt like a bit of a misstep, but I agree it's probably the best new series this fall.
|
So when do the Characters on the show realize that Spader is either Lizzy's dad or killed you dad?
|
I found out a couple weeks ago I went to High School with Megan Boone. Small world.
|
Wiggedy giggedy gee, so I drop my goo on some facelift seeking biddjjjuh!!
|
What is it with shows bringing William Sadler in just to kill him. LMAO

I've thought from the beginning that Spader is her dad. yeah I know...no great leap there....but now I'm thinking this could be too obvious. especially after they basically gave you that on a platter this last episode.
I'm the king of over thinking things.....but I wonder who he really is. |
Still like it.
Spader is awesome |
Yeah, thought Monday's was good. And next week's looks like it could really take off.

Yeah, the scene with the husband and the underlying tension was really well done.
And who bugged their house? |
Quote:
I can only imagine the cameras are either the husband's organization or Red. |
Wow, didn't see that coming. Show has some balls.
|
Intense
|
Spader kills it every week. This is a must see show for me right now along with Persons of Interest. so good.
|
Ole one eye is gonna get ****ed up!
|
The end when he was talking to the african dude was some powerful shit. Thats as intense as it can get
|
This is my favorite new network drama. (Masters of Sex holds the cable title) Finally NBC does something right.
