Maclin's 2014 season would have been all-time Chiefs best

Just read that in an article...

"85 catches, 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns he had last season would have been the best all-around receiving year in Chiefs history."

Derrick Alexander does not agree

If we're basing it solely off of statistics, I'd rather have 72 catches for 1,162 yards and 15 TDs.

Not if he is going to point to his name on the back of his jersey.

I would take Otis Taylor's 58 catches for 1,297 yards and 8 TDs in a 14-game season in 1966.

Not to mention Alex has never come close to feeding a single WR at that level.

Hammock Parties 07-23-2015 10:05 PM

Eagles had like 30 percent more passing plays than the Chiefs or something absurd.

Yep. Still not sure how he didn't make the pro bowl that year (2000?). Too many other "name" guys, probably.

Rain Man 07-23-2015 10:33 PM

Otis Taylor averaged over 22 yards per reception in 1966. Think about that. He AVERAGED 22 yards per reception. That's insane.

Not really. The Eagles ran the fastest pace in the league. They had qbs who weren't terrified of a forward pass.

BlackOp 07-23-2015 10:39 PM

Well..at least KC has a legit #1 WR for a WC offense now. I really think it's going to have a significant impact on the offense as a whole.

It's a number's game and Bowe didn't require two defenders to account for him. The way Reid designs plays...someone is going to be open. If I played FF..I would draft Kelce. I think he is going to be an immediate beneficiary of having Maclin on the team.

Another reason Maclin won't get 1300 yards here.

The biggest reason wears number 11

TribalElder 07-23-2015 11:00 PM

LMAO

He will never hit those numbers here

Maybe if he was a tight end he coul get a couple touchdowns at least

wazu 07-23-2015 11:39 PM

I'm guessing 70 catches, 900 yards, 6 TDs for Maclin this year. He'll help balance things out some as he is better than Bowe, but we aren't going to see a transformation.
