Worst starting QB in the division?
Poll
|
Way to **** up the poll
|
They're all in Denver. LMAO
|
Yes
|
At the current moment, it's Rivers. But I voted Siemien because Rivers will be better next week.
|
Worst Ceiling: Siemian
Worst Floor: Rivers I went with Siemian because Rivers CAN be good, but he tries to do too much and ****s things up a lot. Siemian is a poor man's Alex Smith. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes, but his skill set is incredibly limited. |
To be fair, Rivers is playing a better defense than Semien. It's a road game as well

It's time to call it how it is. |
I meant to hit Semen, not Smith
|
rivers is going to miss mccoy, regardless of how the coaches record ended up. i see rivers taking a huge dump on his season... not to mention he has almost three hours of drive time when he goes home. he's like a truckie moonlighting as an nfl qb. :D

Rivers doesn't want to be in LA
Can't blame him |
Better watch out for Rivers' replacement.
Cardale Jones has issues, but he is highly intelligent, has a coach who believes in him, and from the neck down is the greatest QB prospect ever... |
I'd say it's probably a tie between Siemian and Smith.
They're the same guy, only one has hit his ceiling, and the other has a ton of room to improve, and isn't damaged goods. Obviously Siemian was the more productive player last year, while Smith had his fluke game that makes everyone think he's not an albatross for 2017. |
Quote:
How would that ring a bell? It would at least for a change make it a rival team and a I70 showdown in the division. |
Semen
Alex Smith has too much upside learning from Patrick Mahomes II on the deep ball and looking like an actual quarterback. |

This week will be fun to watch Smith. Will he revert back to the guy we saw early in the Pats game who sacked himself, threw short of the sticks and hesitated to go downfield, or has the addition of Mahomes transformed him into the QB who flashed against the Saints and Colts in the playoffs and who balled for three quarters against the Pats?

If his mechanics are off everything goes to hell. He's basically as good as his OL. |

INT but not a pick 6 |

http://i.imgur.com/cs4ERnJ.gif This was definitely going back for a TD if he had caught it. There is a real double standard here at work with Smith vs Siemian. |

You ****ing homers. LMAO
The football gods smiled on ASS11 on that play. It was very nearly 24-7, game over and a victory lap around CP for me this week. Count your blessings. |
That would not be a pick six lmao. Int yes
|
Semen should've had 2 picks though.
Expectations are so low for him that people overrate him. |

That was going back. |

Relax on the homer crap dude. Nobody outside of the Alex fans is crowning Alex as the messiah. |
The OL was not catching him, Smith and whoever that WR was were on the ground.
That is six points, homer. |

*shrug* Siemian does have a little more ability to throw on the run than Green did, but I stand by the comparison, especially since Green was a lot more mobile before the knee injury.
|
Worst QB might actually be Phillip Rivers.
Everytime i watch Semian play i think to myself, "Why is everyone so down on this guy"? I feel like he gets a lot of un deserved heat. He has some talent. He makes tough, contested throws. Last night he was absolutely on fire. Rivers OTOH....it's been a long while since he's been in the conversation as a top QB. He's incredibly turn over prone, wilts under pressure, one of the worst 4th qtr QB's in the current game and his arm strength doesn't look quite as live as it use to. I know Rivers has the resume, but going off week 1, he very well may have been the worst. And that's been a pattern for awhile now. |

Trent Green? Are you ****ing kidding me? Siemian reminds you of Trent Green? LMAO https://i.imgur.com/jLgjqdn.jpg |

Siemian and Green are similar in that they have good, not great, arm strength, a bit of mobility and pretty good accuracy when they have protection and can set up correctly. Also willing to throw the ball down the field and into tight spots. That's not Smith, either. They're also almost the exact same size. |
Quote:
Of course, the largest difference is that one has started 137 games and the other has started 15. |

I like that Rivers never gives up and can sling it. I think plays too wound up at times and makes dumb mistakes. Siemian ... the guy doesn't light you on fire emotionally, but I like his ability to shrug off a bad play or something negative and turn it into a positive. He never looks rattled or pissed off. Is he a top 10 QB? Not even close... but the guy is far from terrible, makes some great throws, stays in the pocket, makes the pass and takes the shot. I like his desire. We'll see how it goes. |

"good, not great arm strength and pretty good accuracy in a clean pocket" pretty much describes every average to below average QB in the league. You're 0-50 in the Andy Reid era. Now you're 0-51. |
Comparing Alex Smith to a QB who runs a 4.94 is the dumbest thing I've heard around here in awhile, to be frank.

Trevor Siemian had 57 yards rushing last year. But yeah...he's a Smith clone! Dumb. |

But Siemian isn't a runner like Smith. Not even close. |
When was the last time you saw Smith attempt let alone complete a throw like this?
http://bsndenver.com/wp-content/uplo.../08/gif-27.gif This is the QB Siemian wants to be. Drop back in the pocket and hit timing routes. http://bsndenver.com/wp-content/uplo.../08/gif-20.gif Here's another throw you don't see Smith attempt. http://bsndenver.com/wp-content/uplo.../09/gif-45.gif The only reason you think Siemian is anything like Smith is because he was running for his ****ing life last year. |

Like...how many read option plays do you see Denver running with Trev?
Yeah...no. |

I'm not at all interested in a lengthy argument with a career troll who thought Mahomes was only worth a 2nd round pick, that Hunt wouldn't get 200 yards on the season and evaluates QB's by their 40 time. |

Really.... So, Cardale Jones, 6'5", 250, thin looking on a large frame, demonstrated ability to 1. shake off DLs like Big Ben 2. throw with a "dart" motion 40+ yard lasers 3. score a 26 on the Wonderlic, or almost double what Marino scored yeah, he has nothing to like... Lynn, who was with Buffalo last year, has no idea what he traded for and made Rivers' heir... but you do, because you have a beak and a birdbrain, and a penchant for insults... |

Wake me up when Semen makes a read and throw like that. |
Quote:
Are you ****ing kidding me? 1. Shakes of DL like Big Ben....guess that explains the 8 sacks he took this preseason. 2. Tyler Bray has a big arm too...big whoop. So did Ryan Leaf. So did JaFatass Russel...another big overweight QB. 3. 26 on the Wonderlic is something to be proud of? LMAO Yeah, the Bills, who have no QB on their roster gave up on him after just one season to a 1st year head coach (a RB coach at that) and what looks to be one of the worst front offices in all of football. Great ringing endorsement there. Maybe if Jones can throw a TD pass in the preseason we could talk. Until then, just STFU with your bullshit, you butt-****ing morAn. |
Cardale Jones through two NFL preseasons.....1TD, 5 INTS....against 3rd string scrubs.
Yup, im sure Rivers is shaking in his boots. As soon as Jones is able to pass Kellen Clemens on the depth chart, he'll be shaking in his boots. For sure. Cool story. |

I don't know. Carr is the best in the division and the other 3 are all capable of having good and terrible games.
