Gladiator 2018 - Round 2, Match 16 - MIAdragon versus alanm

Vote for the person that you think would win this match in a battle to death or submission. As background, assume that prior to the tournament you received 10 minutes of training on every weapon. The time listed is the amount of time before the match where you learn what the weaponry and venue is. All participants are handed their weapons at t=0 unless stated otherwise.

Venue - On one of those really tall radio towers, with Contestant 1 being 500 feet off the ground, and lower than Contestant 2 by the specified distance.
Starting Distance - 225 feet

MIAdragon

Main Weapon - Nunchaku
Backup Weapon - Police baton

Prep Time - 33 seconds
Special Factors - None

alanm

Main Weapon - Taser (the touch kind, not the shooting kind) and steak knife
Backup Weapon - Thick glass bottle

Prep Time - 2 Minutes
Special Factors - You're wearing dress shoes with a slick wooden sole.

As a clarification, because this is a battle to the death no safety hooks or harnesses are provided.

(Every once in a while, we draw a great special factor for the situation, and this is one where the dress shoes made me grin.)

This is going to be a tough one to decide. Share your tactics if you have an idea.

If I'm MIADragon.....I wait and make alanm climb up to where I'm at. Chances are....he'll tire out and fall.

With those shoes, even if he can climb, it won't be fast. I would think that would make it hard for him to get even with MIAdragon to deliver a fatal blow with the knife without getting whacked with the nun-chucks.

Is a taser to the foot enough to help him? IDK. It's less dangerous for alanm to swing up at MIAdragon's feet than for MIAdragon to swing down and reach him if he is below feet level. That's the one advantage he has since dragon needs to hold on with one hand.

Actually, alanm is the guy who's higher. My language wasn't as clear as it could have been. That makes it a more 50/50 match in my opinion. alanm has the better weapon, but he's got the precarious shoes and will have to contort to use the weapon. MIAdragon is coming up from below and can go for the feet, but one taser shot and he becomes a Galilean experiment.

How is alanm contestant #1? MIADragon is listed first.....wouldn't that make him Contestant #1?

Yeah, MIA is contestant 1 at 500 feet. He's 225 feet lower than contestant 2, which is alanm who is [punching numbers into 1970s-era adding machine] at 725 feet.

Gotcha. That makes more sense.

Can the lower contestant just go to the ground and wait? I feel Alan has the far superior weapons. He can tuck his legs up and slash or taze MIA. He can withstand a couple blows with the pussy police baton. The nunchuck is equally worthless. Hell, Alan could throw the damn bottle down on him.

I feel they both go down towards the ground right away. Alan will be a little more tired when he gets there but he has dominant weapons in this case.

The ground is not part of the combat venue. They can descend, but the battle must be fought on the tower. It's like when professional wrestlers leave the ring and get disqualified. (Well, that's a bad example, but you get the drift.)

How tall is the tower?

The 15 minute time rule apply? If it does, Alan can more easily go down, so he can go down further than MIA goes up and win without even attacking if he wants.

If he goes down, he runs into MIAdragon.

The time rule thing is intriguing me. It's in most people's best interest to play defense, so how do you force each person to fight? Maybe the rule is that, if there's no victory within X minutes, the person who made the largest net movement toward the other one wins? Or before that, even, the one who spent the most time actively attacking.
