Would be totally happy with a Webb selection at 27. I could see Andy falling in love with one of these 'athlete' type QBs, but what you want in a franchise QB is a pocket passer with a head for the game, who will have the ability eventually to read the whole field well. Webb has prototypical size and seems to have the intangibles. He'll have to learn a pro offense and he needs coaching to correct decision making, but that's why he's available at 27. He is an upside project.
I know the anti-Alex crowd will screech about the deep balls, but this is the right kind of QB to invest in, and he is about as good of a prospect as you are ever going to get at 27 and his flaws could be correctable. |
In what world is Webb a first round talent?

Anyone watch the Cal/Stanford game? Just based on that game, Webb looks like a day 3 prospect. Tons of screens. Plenty of bad decisions. WR Chad Hansen though.. he looked day 2.

Anyone but Kizer. That kid is not mature enough. He's got arrogant douche written all over him and now has been quoted as saying he's go the skills to be the best ever.
He just wants money and will fail. That's my read on him. |

60% comp percentage 2 TD'/0 INT's This is a 3rd rd pick? You do realize that this guy has Hansen and that's really it right? 3 new OL and all new receivers but 1 against teams like Stanford, USC and Washington with significantly more talent. What a bad take. At least point to one of his bad games |

The article I posted had him saying that when he made INT's downfield in games like this, he was just trying to make a play. Probably bc he was in an impossible situation. Reminds me a little of Dak. Can't expect him to beat Alabama with jack shit, but the talent seems to be there. |

Perfect pass and a horrible drop. This guy has shit receivers. No wonder they threw so many screens. |
I haven't checked all the QB's stats but like I said best QB in this draft 10 yards and under he completed 65% of his throws. Unlike Smith he can push it down the field too. Don't like his pocket presence though. He's a more accurate Brock Osweiler.
