How is the weather looking? Is the game going to be played?

Is it going to be moist? Dry so far.

They will play. They may get some weather towards the end but getting tonight's game in shouldn't be a problem. Tomorrow on the other hand is a different story. It was supposed to be School Day at the K but they postponed it already until sometime in June.

Ball is going to fly well tonight. Temperature is going to drop pretty good and the wind should be blowing almost straight out.

I think the Rays may be shocked to see what a good ol' fashioned Late Winter Storm front is like in Cowtown. Temp will drop 30 degrees in about two hours. Wind will howl. Unreal.

The original stadium design called for a rolling roof. It was like a giant half beer car on railroad tracks. The roof would be rolled over whichever stadium was expecting rain. When not in use, it would be rolled and stored between the two stadiums.

Maybe we should consider that again???

They cancelled student day at the K tomorrow. They're acting like they're 100% sure tomorrow is lost. I'll be Friday could be out too. Royals may end up playing a crap load of double headers this year!

I like it. Being superstitious, I really like starting games out with the same score. So this could easily work to our advantage.

His pitches were definitely moving better in the latter part of the inning. He was overthrowing early, which resulted in sinking fastballs that didn't actually sink.

Shogun 05-01-2013 06:23 PM

Teahen had a great sense of humor. That itphr was a little dunker down the line that skipped by the outfielder and rattled around in the corner. When he was interviewed about it, he was asked when he realized that he might be able to make it all the way. He responded with, "I knew it was gone as soon as I hit it".

They just aren't going after his dirtballs. Long night ahead.

MeatRock 05-01-2013 06:41 PM

Mendoza sucks shit stained taint.

mr. tegu 05-01-2013 06:44 PM

The difference between last night and tonight is that the chances of Mendoza shutting them down is much less than the chance Shields would do it. We need to keep up offensively starting now.

It was in the next to the last series in '85 when KC hosted the Angels for four

Quote:

After being swept at home in three games by the Twins and with only seven games remaining in the regular season, the Royals faced a four-game series at home versus the Angels. On September 30 the Royals won the first game 3–1 with Saberhagen pitching a complete game and giving up just one run on a home run by Doug DeCinces. Saberhagen collected ten strikeouts in the game and allowed only seven batters to reach first base. The Angels claimed the following game on October 1 by the score of 4–2 with Mike Witt pitching. The Royals won the third game on October 2 with Black pitching a complete game shut out and allowing only five batters to reach first base. Three of the four runs scored by the Royals came in the bottom of the first inning with no outs as George Brett hit an inside-the-park home run to center field with two runners on base. The final game of the series on October 3 was won 4–1 by the Royals with Quisenberry recording the final out of the game and his 36th save of the season. Starting pitcher Danny Jackson had given up just one run in 8⅔ innings despite allowing 11 hits. The Royals' runs came on three home runs by Frank White, Steve Balboni, and Brett. With the win, the Royals had a one game lead on the Angels.
