Morels, yet?
 

Anyone found any morels, yet? It's so humid today, they gotta be popping up.

ground isn't warm enough around KC I don't think. Perhaps another week or so.

had an old farmer tell me this morning he's expecting them tomorrow or wednesday

Never had a morel mushroom, any good?

Excellent. Like ****ing steak. Bread them with flower then fry them in butter. I top them with some Parmesan cheese. I want some now.

If you like mushrooms yes they’re delicious. If you’re not a fan you probably wouldn’t care about them.

Is there a certain recipe that you make? Or pretty much sautée for like a burger?

You won’t find them in a store, they grow wild so you’ll have to hunt them down yourself.
As far as how I cook them I use a similar breading to when I fry fish, 50/50 flour and corn meal, pinch of salt and pepper to taste then fry them in vegetable oil. But that fried in butter with parmesan topping sounds very interesting. :hmmm:
