I think Sam Montgomery could do fine in the 3-4

Nightfyre 02-08-2013 08:56 AM

Sam Montgomery is a rush-backer in the 3-4 at the next level. Not a DE.

I saw a mock this week that had Sheldon Richardson falling to 22. If that happens, phones better be ringing from KC.

Sharrif Floyd is more consistent and has a higher motor, IMO.

Whatever. Im tired of seeing non-athletic pieces of shit at the 3-4 DE. Why keep plugging in players who are mid-round tweener slugs who shouldn't have any business in the NFL? Why keep passing over legitimate 4-3 DE talent? I think we'll see longer, slightly leaner, more athletic DEs in 3-4 eventually. He could easily play at 280 and be fine. I think he's already close to 265-270

Yall can take your prototypes and conventions and shove them up your ass

LMAO

Good luck stopping the run in a 3-4 base with your 260lb DE.

I'm thinking he goes ahead of Sheldon. No way we're getting Floyd IMO. If either fall that far though (I'm also starting to think Rhodes from FSU goes in the first) I'm probably trading up.

The idea would be to get him at 280. Like I said. If he weighs in at 260 Id pass. I think he'll come in closer to 270

Stopping the run is just as hard with 305 pound slugs who suck ass

My dream 2nd round scenario would be Xavier Rhodes, Sharrif Floyd, Matt Elam, Kenny Vaccaro, or Johnthan Banks.

I think all are gone before rd 2.

Nightfyre 02-08-2013 09:27 AM

I think the top of the second will be chock full of legitimate first round talents no matter who goes in the first. This draft is just deep like that.

For example, how many safeties are going in the first? Corners? There will be first round talents at each position available in the second.

I'm starting to think this as well. I guess Tavon would be a good consy prize if he's still there. If not, I'm going to be really pissed if the one year we switch to a 1-gap and have a competent GM that we miss out on all the legit DE prospects.

I hope so. It is starting to seem to me that there's going to be a lot more 3 techs, CBs, S, and WRs taken in the 1st round than I'd originally anticipated. Not happy about that one bit.

I'm not worried about WR. There will be WR talent available in rd 2.

Keenan Allen, Terrance Williams, Cordarrelle Patterson, Justin Hunter, Tavon Austin, DeAndre Hopkins, Da'Rick Rogers, Cobi Hamilton, Robert Woods aren't all going in rd 1 (not saying I'd take all of them at the top of rd 2).
