Raiders waiving LB Rolando McClain today.

The Chiefs should sign this guy immediately. He's a perfect 3-4 ILBer. Only 3 guys had higher grades in run defense.

Look at Tyson Jackson's deal. Sure, the signing bonus was high, but so was the back end of the contract.

Claiming McClain will almost certainly cost more than he'd receive on the open market. We'd also be incredibly stupid not to do it.

On the surface, this would appear to be a no-brainer move for the Chiefs.

He makes less than a million this year, about $4M next year, and just under $6M in 2014.

The guaranteed money has been paid, except for a $250,000 "workout bonus" each season.

I hated him as a pick for the Chiefs and railed against picking him, mostly for health reasons. I laughed my ass off when the raiders took him with the monster reach. But for a couple of $ of salary and 0 draft picks he could be well worth it.

Rolando for his deficiencies in coverage, would blow people the **** up at the LOS taking Belcher's job.
