People who think they're intelligent, but don't believe in God, yet want to know the "secrets of the universe" are simply arrogant.

Not trying to speak ill of the dead, I know a lot of you respected him, and I'm not trying to slight his accomolishments or how he adapted to his condition, but it's not like he had some intuitive understanding of the universe - it was forced. Stilted.

Wrong, at least for me. If it works for you, more power to you.

Not to get this bounced to DC, but based on your position, every scientist prior to the rise of Christianity, and every non-Christian scientist, is "arrogant", which is ****ing stupid.

I swear our local news this morning said today was national pie day, and thinking pie, not PI.

In either case, he died yesterday, so how could he have died on national pie or PI day?

It was the 13th here. It was the 14th in England, where he died.

Yet, rejected God.

Strange person.

Cue the Curly Bill .gif...

People believe in God because they can't explain something. He desired and searched for understanding, so God wasn't really an option.

I think these three quotes sum up the basics of life pretty well. RIP, Mr. Hawking.

Smartest man on the planet running the Chiefs? It's already happened. Just ask King Carl.

ChiliConCarnage 03-14-2018 07:49 AM

RIP. He made it to 76. That's a pretty good run for anybody

He is universally viewed as the smartest person that lived in our lifetimes. Intellect that impacted human history. Maybe you shouldn't be so dismissive of his beliefs?

Who will take his place now that he's gone? Bowtie Bill Nye the science guy? Talk about arrogant!
